Get a job or run some missions.

Is $15/mnth really that much for someone with a job, even a crap one?
If you don't have a job and aren't spending all your time looking for one then use your time to generate some ISK and buy a PLEX.
If you're a student... in life sometimes sacrifices have to be made... shouldn't you be studying?

CCP deserve to get paid one way or another and T2 guns are not an un-counterable I WIN button.

Since i made the original post i've tryied alot more pvp.

The gap i spoke off dont seem so big now, as many pointed out. Tactics seems to play a big part in the outcome of a 1v1 although some limitations still occur as it would be expected in alphas, for example, since you only can fly T1 drones your drone boat will always be less viable in terms of dps as an omega.
Since CCP folks need to eat to thats fine, when i fell ready i'll upgrade my account :)

Alpha Clones are not differently abled citizens in EVE. You're playing a trial that's long enough to let you experiment with everything before you commit. EvE is still a Pay to Play game

This gets tossed around a lot, but where are you getting this from? It's not CCP's view. Their view is quite the opposite.

Guess the question is how a player defines “playing EVE” vs. “trying EVE”. I fly T1 ships up to battlecruisers on my omega clones and for me my alpha clones pretty much feel like “playing EVE”. If you would do more cloaky stuff I would probably lean more towards “alpha is only endless trial”. Either way, T2 weapons would not make the difference for me.

The only way Id ever be on board with this is limiting T2 weapons to frigate hulls only by changing the prerequisites from racial turret/launcher L5 to L4 so as the ability to train the specialization skills and then only to L3.

This leaves the last L5 or 5% damage and two levels of the spec skill, 2% each, available to Omega accounts only.

With the other L5 restrictions in place, tracking, range, and ROF are already capped and with this addition I could see a potential usage case for frigates only.

The only drawback imo is suicide catalysts or thrashers being given what like 40% more dps through T2 ammo.

Have you heard anything I've said?

You said it's all circling the drain, the whole universe. Right?

That's right.

Had to end sometime.

I was "alpha" for years.... before there was an alpha clone state.

And the thing I found is while T2 stuff is nice, you can as others said, do with faction and tactics.

There are literally thousands of people in this game who suck at PVP, and they try to PVP. So know what you have, how to use it, and you will be fine.

BTW I am one of those thousands who suck at PVP, so I am speaking the truth.

This.

Destys need a DPS nerf as it is, suicide ganking needs to be more costly to the ganker.

I was an alpha for almost 2 months (returning EVE player and recently plexed) and to be honest, I absolutely loved it. Sure, you can't always have the best of the best in the game but that's what I loved about being Alpha. It forced you to think outside the box, learn tactics, learn how each of your ships moves, what it can do, how it does it, and why. When I started out back in 2014 with a sub, you take all that for granted. You immediately have access to the best of the best as long as you have the skills.

I've had some of the most fun ever as an Alpha living in WH space. No cloak means you have to make whatever WH system you're in your b****. Set safe spots in 5 different corners, see a strat pop in? Jump every 10 seconds as long as combat probes are on dscan. You will never be able to be AFK in WH space but that's just something to keep you engaged.

I honestly think everyone should have an "Alpha" period to get them in the mindset needed to stay with EVE.

In conclusion for this post, i just upgraded to omega this week and i would recommend any newbies to pvp in alpha before upgrade. Everything seems so much easy after you can barely survive a fight as an alpha char. you will think more about your fits, how you can improve them and make them with a purpose instead of copying some other stuff from a site.

And yes, after you get your hands on T2 weapons and ammo its good times :)

Cheers all and fly dangerous
