Regarding All of the Petition Threads

Hello Everyone / GMs,

I've been reading quite a bit of "I'm upset about the amount of time that it takes to handle my petition" threads.

I think the majority of these threads are started because people are confused about the petition process from an internal perspective and off the bat do not have any inkling as to an ETA for resolution.

While I do not have any insight in that regard. I would like to know a few things from CCP if possible. Consider it my/our Christmas gift as I did not receive one and can't be bothered to petition it (I don't really care about it at this juncture).

  • What time are CCP employees reviewing petitions? (ie: 9-5 GMT). - This is important as it gives us a window during the day where we could expect a response and another one where we can stop being upset because we are certain that noone is processing tickets. (that sounds insane, however that's how the mind works)
  • What are some scenarios that you see often that you wish you didn't because there is nothing that can be done. - (ie: I hate my name can you change it, So and so blew me up and I asked him not to, I fell asleep while auto piloting and lost my badger mark II with 20 BPOs in it.)
  • What is the internal (around the office) resolution goal time for different types of petitions? - Consider each type of petition has a priority level but it can't be 1-55 can it? There are Seven primary categories and fifty-five sub-categories, that is quite a bit to keep track of. I would assume that the ticketing system would assign priority something like this [1-7] [1-55] [x] where x is the actual priority of other tickets of the same type. It would be interesting to know if age is factored in petitions at all or if there is a different model for determining escalation.
  • Lastly - What are some of your favorite petitions of all time. (can be hilarious stuff you've read, BS things people have tried to pull off, most difficult scenario to fix that was an actual issue)

That's pretty much all I have to ask, before anyone comes in bringing the rage. Yes, I have petition open for a small thing. It does not affect my game play too significantly at the moment but it does sit in the back of my mind and makes me wonder how many extra hamsters are needed to get it fixed. Big smile

GM Homonoia answered many of these questions in a recent thread.

Petition queues are usually priority shuffled. So, petition is created then depending on whether it is a harassment or a "Boo hoo, my present didn't arrive" or a question, it is sorted according to which needs to have the most immediate attention.
Now, in other games where you can see your place in the queue, the usual complaint is that they were 2nd then suddenly 5th, again it comes down to the priority. It all works on triage.
It is also the holidays, thus less GMs at work, probably getting triple pay for the extra stress and a great many more of you all being at home and putting in more complaints.

Calm down, relax and do other things. Your present isn't stopping you from playing the game.

Not even once

EVE is becoming shallow and puerile; it will satisfy neither the veteran nor the "WoW" type crowd in the transition.

The above poster has failed to read the entire post made by the OP and has made an assumption after reading a small portion of the original statement.

I love this forum. . .

Man up and move your petition to the back of the queue so mine gets answered first.

It's much more important. The very stability of the EULA depends on it! :3
