Hi. I'm a newbro and I'm enjoying the game tremendously thanks to the new Alpha clone mode. It allows me to learn at a reasonable pace and wait for skill points at my leisure. I have been able to find answers to all my questions on either You Tube or on one of the many web sites dedicated to EVE, but this one I can't figure out.

When trying out fits for various ships, it happens from time to time that I can't find one of the modules. The search function in the market will not recognize the name either in part or in whole and neither will the fitting simulator. Here are the two latest examples of a couple of modules that are not recognized:

J5b Phased Prototype Warp Scrambler I
X5 Prototype Engine Enervator

Any help would be appreciated. These two I got from a Uniwiki fit for a Merlin.

Sometimes nothing can be a real cool hand.

CCP has been redoing modules in what is known as module tiericide. That tends to also change their names a bit, so you may not find exactly the same named modules.

Wormholer for life.

They've tried to keep some of the flavor, but otherwise they wanted to be more clear with what the modules do, for example they wanted the words "stasis webifier" in the name of the X5, instead of "engine enervator."

So search for "J5b" and "X5" and you should find the modules you're looking for.

Alternatively, click for info on a similar scram or web module (or any other item, really), then check out the "Variations" tab of the info window.

It will show you each type, T1, meta, T2 and faction, with a link to click for comparison.

Very helpful when sorting through options and possibilities.

Ok, as Wander said, they've just either changed the name or got rid of it. Typing in just X5 or J5b DID work, I guess I just didn't find the exact match before and was therefore frustrated, so thanks Memphis. And finally the "Variations" button helps a lot, so thanks a bunch Kazual. Now I just have to figure out which of the alternatives is closer to the original recommendation. Thanks all.

the x5 and j5b were both reasonably cheap and had good fitting requirements, I suspect most fits you will want compact but if you notice a bunch of cpu left over I'd look to the scoped (a bit more range is always good) or enduring (less cap use, although probably not as usefull for web/scrams) version

Because of the module rework, assume every loadout you find will be obsolete. NEVER trust someone else's loadout. Even best case scenario that the loadout is recent (and not complete garbage which if you're using a found loadout you wouldn't be able to recognize quality off hand), the loadout wasn't made for you. WHY are you fitting that particular scram, or that particular web? Do you even know what they do? When you get into a fight, do you know what to do with them, and how they will affect your tactics especially compared to other variations, which variables matter between variations for how you want to fly? Only you can make a loadout made for you. Learn what you can from other loadouts, but unless it's an FC dictating fleet doctrines, it will be wrong for you. There are too many variables. Instead, focus on building your flying skills, while building your loadouts around how you fly. If you're afraid the loadout you made yourself will kill the ship you're about to jump into, maybe you're not ready to be in that ship yet, and should be in something cheaper. If you learn the absolute limits of your ship it will become obvious how to fit for your role and tactics and will give you a starting point in your next ship where you get to start over.

Maxim 6. If violence wasn’t your last resort, you failed to resort to enough of it.
