Vindicator ratting strategy and fit

Hello everyone!

I've just bought my first battleship, the Vindicator. I'm trying to use it in Serpentis Forsaken Hubs.
I hear people are getting 30-45 mil ticks with it, but I can only push 26 or so before tax. This is in blue 0.0.

TL;DR - I have a decent fit, can't get high ticks, FC, what do!?

First the fit then the strategy. After that I'd like advice on what I can improve.

This is armor tanked. I prefer armor, so I'd like to stick as close to this as possible, but if there
is a vastly superior fit then I'm open to it. I just spent most of my Iskies on the modules so...
I do want to keep the MJD. It's a layer of security in case I mess up. MWD seems good for the first few km but
then you just sit there anyway. Thoughts?

Cap stable, more or less. Around 40mins.

Void L x 10 000
Null L x 5 000

Wasp II x5

OR

Gecko x2
Vespa x2
Hornet x1

So my strategy is as follows. I'll try to be as detailed as possible to make it easier to troubleshoot for what I'm doing wrong.

  1. Activate all armor and tracking mods
  2. Warp at 0 to the Forsaken Hub
  3. Deploy and bookmark MTU
  4. Launch drones
  5. Target smallest ships from closest to furthest
  6. Target battleships from furthest to closest
  7. Web battleship within 14km that seems to move away outside of Void L
  8. Set guns on furthest battleship within 14km and approach
  9. Set drones on the closest small ship. Then approach first battleship wreck and stay there

Priorities:

    Web
  1. Battleships that are moving out of Void L range
  2. Smaller ships that are too fast for the guns, to help drones
  3. Anything left

    Guns
  1. Battleships within ~18km (farthest to closest)
  2. Battleship outside ~18km, switch to Null L, (farthest to closest)
  3. Smaller ships, using appropriate ammo depending on range, usually Void L

    Drones
  1. Smaller ships, (closest to farthest)
  2. Battleships outside of Void L, (farthest to closest if there are still battleships within Void L being shot by guns)
  3. Battleships outside of Void L, (closest to farthest if there are no battleships within Void L being shot by guns)

The problem is not the large ships, it's the smaller ones. They will target my drones and I have to recall them, thus
slowing me down a lot. I can't seem to get a good flow. I constantly need to get back to repair or replace drones.
I get 20mil ticks in my VNI so I was expecting more from this beast.

How are you guys reaching the 40mil ticks? Can you spot what flaws I have in the fit or the strategy?
Please stick to the topic. Any help is greatly appriciated!

Thanks!

web the frigs and drones should kill them prey fast, specialy cause you have a mad web bonus, also when you web them you will be able to track them easily, just align towards the direction the npc is flying and you will 1 hit it, also better use mwd, on warp in 2 cycles of mwd as you kill a cruiser on the move, and then just orbit the wreck in the middle of the spawn, cause all waves spawn at same place so its a lot easyer and better, and most of all, practice, in decent time you find out how easily you can clear them a lot faster yielding better ticks, so take your time as you earn it, and go for faction dmg mods they will help to, peacePirate

Thanks! Big smile

A few question:

1. So swap the MJD for a MWD, any specific type?
2. Should I use the Wasps or the Gecko-squad?
3. At what range should I orbit the wreck?

I was about to post a similar thread. Running level 4 missions (eventually incursions) with a Domi remote repair alt.

Without wanting to hijack the thread, would this fit suit me?

edit to add: without the fancy factions mods because I'm poor
