How long is Eve mail available via in the client?

What do people do to archive eve mail so they have an audit trail of past conversations?

As far as I’m aware you can recall any information including mails using your API in various programs. As for how long in client; I think its 3 years.

As for past conversations and logs, everything is recorded in ::
Documents > Eve > Logs > then whatever “log” folder you are after, be it; chat, fleet, game or market.

Hope this helps.

Circumstantial Evidence

I think its 1500 total mails, and then the old ones get pushed off the bottom of the stack by new ones. The oldest mail I currently have saved is 2013, and I does make me sad that CCP can't store more compressible text on behalf of players.

EVEMON (which I have not looked at in a long time) allowed one to view mails via API, but I don't think it had an option to archive locally. I'm also looking for recommendations for basic archiving and external reading / text searching.

Mails have no time limit, I have characters from 2004 which still have mails from that era.
