does anybody know that word.

if not let me enligthen, Constellation is somewhat like a region, its just smaller, and inside a region, it even has its own channel, (its empty).

why doesnt constellations have any purpose, it seems like a waste to me.

in terms of the eve market if adding something as simple as the constellation range filter, (as we got region, system and station)
i believe that it would promote local markets more, which in an economic sense, you know, makes sense!

instead of the allmighty Jita tradehub, people might be inclined to spread more out and find a niche in local markets which would also greatly vary from constellation to constellation

(also i believe it should be easier to do interregional trading, but its impossible to see whats in other regions and therefore you cant do it, and dont give me the (use an alt) bullcrap, it shouldnt be necessary and its just a drag really, but lets leave it at that)

my 5 cents, now let the flame begin, as thats most likely whats comming my way.
but i do hope for some constructive feedback instead

There's Local, Alliance, Corporation, and relevant Intel channels. Local constelation channels aren't that great, when you got cluster-wide information.

"Constellation" for the market would never get used -- it's too narrow. The same goes for "Station" and "System" -- they're OK for the newbies who don't know any better ... but given a day or so (or however long it takes to get through the tutorials and into your T1 industrial) there's no need to limit yourself to searches that are so narrow. This is mainly because it's so damn easy to move stuff around. If I want 250 million trit for example, I *could* check the Pulin system or the Firille constellation market and hope the prices and available quantity are good... or just check the entire Sinq Laison region and look for the best price/volume (it's probably in Dodixie anyway).

Now, getting into POS usage (and other places where you can expand to "Constellation") it makes more sense. This is because while I could just look at the region (or the universe) for my assets/jobs/whatever, there are a lot of instances where "region/universe" is too broad, but "current system" doesn't cut it either.

One of the bitter points of a good bittervet is the realisation that all those SP don't really do much, and that the newbie is having much more fun with what little he has. - Tippia

It sounds like what you want is to see market orders within 2 jumps or whatever... as that's presumably how far you're willing to travel. Just sort by number of jumps and off you go... Or set up your buy orders to buy from 2 jumps away, same difference.

edit: constellation would be rubbish because if you're right on the edge you'd want to see the next constellation too presumably...
