Assist drone in mining fleet or not?

Background of my small mining fleet,
two dedicated miners, one miner/ haulier and one booster. Am I better off in each individual account controlling their own drones or assisting them to the booster and having the booster assigning the targets?

Follow up as well, is it worth sticking a target painter on a booster for drone targeting.

I am using medium drones across the board as well if it helps in Null.

whats the booster?
ive a feeling that the lock time on the booster will be horrible
