Station-Bookmarks doesn't work from time to time

Hi,

sometimes, when I finished a Mission and want to use a prepared bookmark to warp to a station with a distance of "0" the
bookmark doesn't work and when ship comes out of warp, there is a distance for example for more than 1000m between the ship and the station.

1. Have other players the same problem?
2. Is the reason for that known?
Rumours told me that the stations are moving, is that true?
Are there any patch notes where this is written?

Many thanks.

You are playing with two factors. The "play" or variation in where you land in relation to your warp target and the stations docking ring, aka "0".

When you warp to "0" on anything there is a 2500m variance of the exact point you will land. Ultimately it is a 5km bubble surrounding your target point. This is also why when you jump in to a cyno you get the same effect. Gate spawning upon jump is a greater distance but the same general mechanic afaik.

The station docking ring is a set bubble around the actual station center, as measured from the center which is denoted by the exact point the actual station name and targeting square appears, that is many kms in diameter. So when you warp to "0" on a station you are actually warping to the edge of this bubble, you then factor in the first part of the warp target variance and you can land as much as 2500m AWAY from the edge of this docking ring bubble. Other wise known as "landing short."

Have you heard anything I've said?

You said it's all circling the drain, the whole universe. Right?

That's right.

Had to end sometime.

I like the possibility that stations were moved while you weren't looking

That is why you make a bookmark deep inside the bubble to be sure you land to 0. Not too deep though Big smile You don't want to bump off the station.

Basically yes, thanks for the explanation so far. But I do not understand why the bookmarks I made long time ago worked for severaly years. I always was able to dock immediately after warping to "0" at the station, but since some months ago it doesn't work any longer.

Another point is that I'm not sure if I understood you fully. I tried to make new bookmarks, as near to the station as possible.
But again it doesn't work, due to your explanation maybe logically it shouldn't.
But does that mean, that there is always a chance that a bookmark doesn't work in the sense of docking immediately after getting out of warp?

it is possible that with citadel and the docking ring visuals that the old docking bubbles got slightly changed to accommodate the new visuals?

i have numerous bookmarks made inside docking rings to instadock.
The one in Stacmon has never changed, but sometimes i get the camera tilted sideways looking at nothing bug there after undock until session change.
A few jumps away, in Alentene, instadock bookmark seems to get reset to zero on station, forcing that silly approach to docking perimeter troll. In the same system at another station, instadock bookmark stays where it is, meters from the undock.

Seems random OP, i have seen instadocks turn into zero at station though, so you aren't mistaken or crazed.
