I would love an option to renew an expired contract when they expire. This would be especially helpful to those that mass contract ships to corp / alliances. Please note that I am not suggesting "Auto-Renewal" as I can see that defeating the purpose of the expiration date entirely (preventing spam).

Alternatively a corp roll that allows for permanent / longer contracts to CORP / ALLIANCE would also help. This would not defeat the expiration purpose as the member would have to be GRANTED the perm to do such and if taken away would make contracts go back to the 2 week expiration.

As a guy who also fills this role, you are aware of the 'copy contract' feature yeah? You can also use it to copy a previous set. For example, all my Ares come up for expiry, as long as all the info is the same, just put he ships back in the hangar, and copy one of the old contracts. You might have to tweak/double check a thing or two, but it's not too big of a pita. No, it's not a one click 'repost this contract' deal, but it is not far off either, and takes care of a considerable amount of the annoyance that has traditionally been associated with that function.

Yes I am aware of it, and use it frequently. I would just like to see an option to renew as an improvement onto the existing system. The main issue i have is when you have your own assets and must make sure that you dont have your own ships being contracted through the copy contract mechanic. As your asset list grows - this gets more and more tedious. A simple renew would be a great addition to the system in my mind.

You're not wrong in that that is an annoyance :) I'm slightly spoiled in that I have my very own hangar in one of the utility corps to work out of, so just trade everything over to that character and contract off that.

The question I would have is if the renew would differentiate between the specific item and another ares in my hangar, or if it would only apply while the item is still 'locked' in the contract, in either an about to expire or expired but not deleted state, either way?

EDIT: I see you've mentioned the expired state, but inquiring/expanding on if I would have to wait til it expired, or if I could renew at less than a day, or if I accidentally delete the contract when its expired, etc?

the suggestion would use the specific item that was in the old (think of it more of an extension to the contract than a new contract altogether). The renew function would be selected and would create the renewal after a prompt. It would not go through the asset selection screen that copying does.

The option would be from the expired contracts window (i.e. right click expired contract and select renew)

Sorry about that lol. Re-read and realized I was being obtuse in explaining what I meant.

Fair 'nuff.

Yeah I can get behind that, and don't immediately see anything that would break the game out of it.
