So if things are on Jita marketplace in a container
You see them as blueprint originals
Then accepted they are not
fortunately only picked up a damn cheap one like that but still

Is it standard practice to just not buy blueprints in a container, or does the side information sayin original or whatnot actually real and i just missed it and lost 200 mil :0

It is standard practise to put BPC kits in a small container. So if you are purchasing the blueprints to build an Orca, for example you would have a 1 run BPC for the ship and multiple run BPCs for the capital components.

If you view the contract, you will see exactly what it contains, the blueprints, the runs and the quality (ME/TE). This cannot be scammed.

BPO's are only sold on contract if they have been researched - these may be collected in a container if several prints are included in the contract - again all you need to do is view the contract to see what it actually contains.

Blueprint copies and researched originals must be sold on contract - you can't put them on the market.

Scams are common in Jita (and other trade hubs). Never buy anything offered in local without close inspection. If it seems too good to be true, it probably is. Scamming is an honorable profession in Eve, as is piracy.

I'm sorry you lost ISK to a scammer. For future reference (and for other readers coming along): BPCs and BPOs are distinguished both by text and a visual indicator. The icon for a BPO is a much darker blue than for a BPC.

If it helps: 200m is a relatively small loss in a scam and I'm sure you'll be able to make it back quickly.

Drag your contract viewing window so it is much wider, and it will explicitly say "BLUEPRINT COPY" or "BLUEPRINT ORIGINAL", plus the ME and TE

You can also right-click icons in contracts and view info. [Rule of EvE: when in doubt, right-click it.]

BPC: The second line under the BPC name is "Copy - N Runs remaining".

Personally, I just have a very wide contract window, so I can see the full descriptions.

Another Tip for the wary.

if you are considering usinghttp://evepraisal.com/ for blueprints, i would not.

when you dump the output for the contract the website assumes originals. This can result in misleading results.
