Eve doesn't have a line of sight mechanic. I can shoot you through a station as long as I have you locked. Line of sight would dictate that I would have to have a clear line of sight to shoot you*


Eve also doesn't have a collision mechanic. It 'compromises' with a bumping mechanic. If you run into another ship, they both bounce away from each other. A collision mechanic would do damage to both ships based on an array of speed, mass, material, etc etc.


I know you were joking, which is why I responded with a joking response lol. Line of Sight and Collisions would be something very cool, but very difficult to properly integrate without breaking a great many things as well.


Your suggestion(joking or not) would be to put in a 'point and click' system based on what you can see, which is close to a line of sight system :P

It would be rather cool to have a beacon target painter that capital ships can use. The best way to show your hatred for someone is to reveal their position to everyone.
