I cast a second vote after Thrasher........Republic Fleet Firetail.

I absolutely adore Firetails, although I die in them frequently. Fast + fun, often cheaper than the other faction frigates....

If you had access to other races' skill trees, I'd also vote for the Daredevil. I've had better luck with them than Dramiels.
