Sorry if I triggered you John, but when someone starts off the discussion with an accusation of disloyalty (which I take very seriously), it kind of starts things off on the wrong foot and I am left to play to my strength and mock you as the grouchy has-been that refuses to retire into political obscurity, that you are. Don't dish out public character assassination and then cry foul when something much less impactful is hurled back at you.

And as to your claim that I don't know much about history, I seem to be more up to date on political connections than you, if you didn't even know that Horde, Spaceship Samurai, and SniggWaffe are all affiliated with Pandemic Legion, in a coalition that is arguably one of the major power blocs in New Eden right now.

Mocking someone is hardly a strength, and I think you'll learn that it will do little to garner you any respect in your communications now and in the future.

One of the positive points of being a grouchy has-been, is that I've experienced and witnessed more than most. In fact, I've seen these mighty power blocs of nullsecurity space crumble into obscurity far faster than my own political career has.

You're a man of business, John. How would you take it if a potential negotiating party insulted your sense loyalty without ever meeting you, speaking to you, having tea or a meal with you? Would you be inclined to do good business with them, or would you be tempted to fire back in kind?

It's funny to me that you throw a rock and then attempt to seize the moral high ground. If you care to actually discuss things in a civil manner, I would invite you to reach out to me and we can arrange to share tea and talk about serious things. This garbage forum is not the place, rather it's for grandstanding, and mocking grandstanders.

Only the liberty of the individual assures the prosperity of the whole. And this foundation must be defended.

But this is a result of how WE choose to use it.

We could choose differently.

Two things:

On your first point: don't be so sure. Scathing wit is valued by many, even if you're not among them.

On your second: considering that at its core, NCdot is three of the four surviving core BoB corporations, and their close ally Pandemic Legion houses the other, and that PanFam and NCdot are, in fact the same bloc for all intents and purposes and have been for half a decade or so... you might want to recalibrate your 'crumble into obscurity' meter.

Individually? Sure. Collectively? Once you've got at least half a dozen people involved, discourse goes straight down the tubes. s'just humanity.

I would have to agree with Ishikari-haani. There are (and have been) plenty of chances to change things. It all starts with us. We should have hope that change is possible, even if it seems unreachable.

I'd agree on the metaphorical point. However, no matter if you have six or six thousand, they are still individuals, and the very nature of this venue is such that responses have to be considered, written, and put up. They have time to think, and time to choose.

Still, I take your meaning.
