Are you just arguing this for debate exercise, or do you truly personally stand behind your position?

I'm truly and completely behind this (in high as i said).

There is simply no need for a free pvp whatsoever in high...high should be safe in any way....

As i said i'm not against pvp...there can be pvp anywhere else, even in high if it is sanctioned by both parties....but ganking and griefing in high is simply not modern anymore....those said games outside of eve have success with the complete opposite of that what is happening here and an adjustment to them has to be made.......

to say this again......this is not about pvp...this is about "let pve live without your hobby".......just respect their way of play....

One of the core principles that Eve is built on is the fact that you aren't safe in space. It's the whole point of the sandbox that you can do what you want. You are only as safe as you make it. Being prepared for the unexpected. High-sec should not and hopefully will be be more safe than it currently is. The whole point of Eve is meaningful actions and the permanence of losses. Eve doesn't hold your hand, it punches your nose crooked.

What you are asking goes against the very foundation of Eve and it doesn't have a place in the game.

Well...

If you ignore what happens around eve and inside other games that have success,if you don't want to see the fact that a change had happend in what players expect from a game than you will be whiped out sooner or later.

EVE does not exist out of its own.....it depends on money from subscriptions and/or microtransactions lately(which will be expanded in the future i think (one first step in the right direction)) and for keeping and getting the money you need you have to follow the rules of the market and that means FOLLOW not IGNORE trends.....

No...EVE will not die soon.....but if you don't make the right choices it will end.....

And it DON't help if you and other people don't WANT a change...in fact CCP will simply not care if they find them important....

"the core game of eve" is simply not relevant the moment the server has to go offline.....simple as it is.....all your wishes mean nothing compared to these stupid reality.....

What you don't seem to get is that Eve is still here BECAUSE of its harshness, not despite it. Eve has never followed the mainstream-way of making MMO's. It's always done things it's own way.

The reason we are still here is because you are never safe when you undock, because you can get killed even in highsec, because the losses are permanent. There are many MMO's out there, but none are what Eve is. You want to change Eve to make it like the rest, which would kill it. Nobody is saying you cannot change Eve. We are just defending what makes Eve the game we want to play.

I subscribed after I saw this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yFTUazuGdTw - where is that gate today (almost 2017) ?

CCP are very good at creating this kind of stuff.

The reality is, we don't know when or how any of those plans will come to fruition. This gate is a glimpse into a possible future and has nothing to do whatsoever with current gameplay.

Maybe I'm too old for this game, too much kids who thinks that nothing must change, ever ... not willing to offend anyone but ... it's the harsh truth.

I'm 52 right now. How old are you?

And no ...not the players (pve, solo ect THAT DON'T WANT PVP in the majority) have to fly smart, ccp has to FORCE the gankers to behave under THEIR rules...and those rules have to be adjusted like they are in all the other games around which means "leave non pvp players alone or loose your ship instantly due to an autokill".....

You know what? One of the reasons I left those other games behind, was exactly because I didn't want any of that anymore. I came to EVE because it was different in this regard.

Now I'm not against change. Few games out there have changed as much as EVE has in the last 6 years. And yes, it is this constant change that keeps the game afloat. So change is important. But not every change is good.

No safe spaces.
No trigger warnings.
You will be offended.
You will be savagely beaten.
You will lose things.
You will adapt to this or you will go away.

I'm fairly certain that the devs would rather see the game go away than let it be turned into yet another themepark mmo that caters to the weak and fearful. This very reason is why many many players are still here after ten years or more... or in my case have returned multiple times.

Once you accept it for what it is in all it's dark and scary glory it becomes a beautiful thing.

Come hell or high water, this sick world will know I was here.
