Wow. This was an awful game.

Spent 2 days trying to like it. Most of that time I spent googling what the hell to choose, train, pick, do. Started first agent missions and spent most time again googling what, where, whom. Then somebody killed me for "suspect" bla. bla. No pointers to anomaly, nothing. Like being thrown into the amazonian jungle with a moped and they tell you to build a computer and e-mail them when you are finished.

Is there a point to this game? What are you supposed to do not getting killed by everyone?

First off, don't listen to the trolls.

This game does have a big learning curve, and it is considerably more complex and complicated than other games. That's not a bad thing, it is a good thing, but when you are first thrown into it, it can be overwhelming for noobs.

Do reading on the forums, ask questions (like you are doing now), google for resources, watch videos on youtube, etc.

This is your only post, as far as I can tell.

Most newbies aren't so anti-social, they ask questions, they post in the Newbie Q/A, in General Discussion, on Reddit, on Steam, wherever, and they get help and good advice. The game has been around for more than 10 years, there are PLENTY of good advice sites, and from EVE University to all the people in Newbie Q/A to most of Reddit, there are plenty willing to give advice and even donations.

But no. You had to try solo.

So, good luck with your future endeavors, have fun with other games. Because, as mentioned above, this is just a game, nothing special about it, and we don't really care if you play or not. We play to play, not to babysit others. And, plenty of other games out there.

Once more, EVE filters out another weakling not fit for survival in this cold, harsh universe we call our home.

I wouldn't be surprised if someone actually did that for fun.

Another Wow.

What a respond. Not getting totally trashed like in other games.

-Yes I did the rookie thingy with Aura, twice.

-I wanted to learn scanning and then military.

What seems to be the biggest problem in this game is that no matter how small
mistake you make (wrong place at wrong time, bad judgement, wrong settings, et.c et.c.)
the sentence is death.

If you always stay ready you don't have to get ready.

That's why you get a lot of free ships doing the NPE tutorials.

It helps when you got a RL friend to help start up and smooth the learning cliff.

What death? Capsuleers dont die, they regroup in clone facilities.
I think you dont have a capsuleer mindset yet.

No it isn't. Do you lose stuff? Yes. But you don't lose your char like in Diablo2 HC. You're an immortal capsuleer in EVE. And no, you're not the hero. Capsuleers are a cause of terror and suffering to billions of mortals throughout New Eden.

That's the thing which holds me there.... Loss has worth. And it makes win worthy too.

Oh the drama!

The sentence isn't death, the sentence is some virtual (non-existent) pixels exploding in a pretty fireball.

It's a PVP game. Play World of Tanks, see what "the sentence" is there. Play chess, imagine you're the king, see what the sentence is.

You get better, you die less, that's the point of the game.

And what you're not getting is this: in WoW, SWTOR, other online games, if you're level 5 you can't even land a spell on a level 15, let alone a max level. Max level can just sneeze an AOE to kill ALL newbies around him, guaranteed 100%. In this game, day 1 newbies, Alphas even, got into all-Alpha fleets and killed veterans, coming out even. EVE doesn't have the "you can't even target him because he's a veteran" bullshit. You have a chance to make it, from day 1, in this game.

No we are telling dieing is part of the game. Embrace it and the game becomes much more enjoyable.

That is a fine game, played it for 4 years. Also WoW and AW.

Ok , when I realize (and maybe accept) the constant "you looked at me wrong, now loose everything" attitude everybody has, what the hell next?

I dont know. What do you like to do? Maybe start there. Cool

I really am sad that CCP dont have a personality test they had on website, You could imagine yourself as one of us before you even play, and take some career, or maybe call BS on it and start something completely other...

But it was fun.

Hmm WoT is more like closed matches game. We have something like that, it is called Tournament and is only one in a year, but people do more smaller tournaments and make some rules to them. And you can always join FW, its like WoT but the fight is non stop and everywhere. So better watch out, because its like a real war. You are safe only in station anyway.

Ok.

WoT got boring. To be honest I tried Eve many, many years ago.

I have no memory how that week went, played the original Eve: Homeworld too.

So, if I want to be a great general on a big army wessel and annihilate Amarr, any pointers?

Is google still the best friend?
