It doesn't seem fair that the NPC pirates can target me from 30km away and start shooting me while I am mining, but I have to be within 15km to target them and use my drones on them. Is there anything I can do to increase my targeting range?

Try flying a combat ship. My Golem can lock out to over 100km.

1. Long Range Targeting skill will improve your targeting range, train as needed to get your range up.

2. Improve your drone control range, if you have your drones set aggressive and the drones deployed, they should auto-attack the NPC rats regardless of whether you've targeted them, as long as the rats are within drone control range.

3. Are you fitting things that are hurting your targeting range, such as Warp Core Stabilizers? Be aware of the penalties you place on yourself with how you fit your ship.

There are plenty of tools available to you to make this a non-issue, so there's nothing unfair about the situation you find yourself in.

What he said.Bear

Have you heard anything I've said?

You said it's all circling the drain, the whole universe. Right?

That's right.

Had to end sometime.
