How do I activate/add cosmetic items?

Like, say, goggles or armor. I see no right click option to add them to my character's customization options, and when I go into customization, they don't show up. I am not currently subscribed (though I have been in the past), but the cosmetic items show no indicator that they are locked to omega clones. What am I missing?

You have to go into character customization in the station where the cosmetic items are, so you can "use them" to "get dressed." They will appear as clothing options for you to pick if they're in the station hangar where you are. Clothes aren't items you can use remotely, and there's no teleportation of items.

Once you put them on and save your new character portrait, they won't disappear or drop as loot if you get pod-killed. They will, however, be dropped back into your station hangar at whatever station you're at, if you go into character customization and wear something else.
