the "sound person" is ccp realx and hes cool, im sure if they asked him for his opinion he would say that its incredibly annoying to have sounds play on every mouseover

I do understand what your saying, I just can't see how sounds such as this add anything at all to the game except to increase stress and irritation levels while having to repeatedly listen to them.
Even more so with the grating voice chosen to present them

Whoever it is, there're people that at some point had to

- design (?) it
- think it was good idea
- make or take samples
- add some code
- test it (hearing this irritating chain of static-like sound clicks when you move your mouse over e.g. market orders)
- someone above them had to approve it
- whatever else as applicable

That's ******* scary.

Though after yet another misdesigned trainwreck (one of many past 2 years as far as UI goes) called "new character window" that makes nearly everything worse compared to the old version (not mentioning confusing desktop monitor with cellphone screen) I can't say I'm much surprised ... then again "sounds" that make everyone think at first "are my headphones / speakers breaking ?" ...

The worst thing is that we will likely have to tolerate it or disable it (along with few other sound effects one might not want to disable) for forseeable future - as CPP are (in most cases) too stubborn or too loaded with ego to ever admit to a mistake.

Actually, I think I'll start making a list of broken things, old nonfixed bugs and UI regressions and post it every time they ask for feedback they promptly ignore. Won't change a thing, but will feel good at least.

An idea can seem sound [haaah] but then break with repetition. There are extreme cases like how a cinematic camera looks okay as a cinematic camera... once... but then when you consider the frequency it's like, hell no.

This wasn't the most egregious lack of testing and I think the lower volume of complaints reflects that.

KIDS THESE DAYS WITH THEIR LOUD MUSIC back in my day we

You don't think it a little odd that the music trends of my day (a 57 year old) are as popular today (40 years on) as they were then?

And all these extra click sounds and popups (took me an extra 10 minutes last night loading my JF due to the stupid popups not allowing me to drag and drop) add nothing to the game.

They aren't nice to listen to, they add nothing interesting or new (except to show someone at CCP really hates, or simply doesn't understand its player base).

Easy fix for the annoying new popups for EVERYTHING, set them on a delay - That way if you want to see the same information over and over and over, you just hold your mouse over whatever and you see it. If you don't want to have your game play adversely affected by annoying popups, you don't have to.
Speeding up information gathering that slows down game play is not good and what happened to the "add to front of cue". Now you have to drag and drop, which is severely hindered by the "add to cue" popup.

The all new (and so fukin annoying) "You are not in range to carry out that action" really needs an off switch - Anyone who has played the game for more than 10 minutes has worked out, you need to be in range to loot wrecks etc (it tells you so in the NPE).

One step forward (more information / whether you want it or not) and 2 back (slowing down what and how things can be done), is not an improvement

My opinions are mine.

  If you don't like them or disagree with me that's OK.- - - - - - Just don't bother Hating - I don't care

It really is getting harder and harder to justify $23 a month for each sub.

CCP - That audio prompt for range to perform an action is getting to be a bit much

Why can't you have that as an optional prompt so we turn that off? I've been playing since 2012 and know what range i need to be at.

It happens on literally every action that is a function that most players do.

I had it happen while trying to board a ship, engage a target, Open a hanger container while warping to it.

It's gotten really annoying, please make it stop.

I killed my Aura.
This year CCP has done so many silly actions and they do not want to admit their mistakes, so now I do not believe that one day will be an option to turn off those annoying "in range" announcements.
Aura acts as intended. And CCP afraid to add options.
So the only one solution is to set Aura voice to 0.

Aura: "You need to be within range to execute this function."

Kimi Räikkönen: “Leave me alone, I know what I’m doing.”

It's absurd In my opinion... I get it we have new players... in all seriousness we had to learn this game just like the new bros coming in... why enable this constantly annoyance.

We're not dumb and we can retain basic information for interactions such as ranges to interact with something, Hell the onscreen prompt is more then adequate in my opinion.

Also can you PLEASE separate "UI click" option from other sounds it covers (move them to UI interaction or add another one) ? So we can at least kill this "you headphones are breaking, please find warranty" sound without losing other useful ones.

well... shїt...
asteroids mining without Aura voice not so good.
CCP we need separated toggle for "You need to be within range" and cricket mouse over sound.
And also we need separated toggles for your Incarna new camera.

Aura: "You need to be within range to execute this function."

Kimi Räikkönen: “Leave me alone, I know what I’m doing.”

HAPPY NEW YEAR, CCP!

Now fix this, Please. I beg you, remove the audio prompt.

Edit:
From patch notes:

  • Modified Notification, Loot open and Mining completed sounds to be controllable using the UI Interaction slider in the Advanced Audio settings.

Oh thank god! Does this mean its over?

CCP needs to be in range of a computer to fix this problem. But they are never in range since there is no voice to tell them so.
