Client fails to load resources that exist on disk and redownloads them

I'm trying to run some of my clients on a VM on another system with a PCI-E passthrough GPU and control them via remote desktop so my desktop is actually usable for things other than Eve

This pretty much works, except that on undocking (or other session change), the download on demand ~feature~ fails to load resources that for sure exist on disk (care of "Download Everything") and then starts downloading them again

It manages sometimes to do this for what appear to be the same resources, in the same clients that have already redownloaded them once, on subsequent dock/undock cycles

This is a particular problem because after more than a few clients start redownloading the game resources for no reason, it basically amounts to a solicited DDOS from the CDN, and other clients start dropping due to packetloss Roll

EDIT:

Well it seems to be working now, I think it might have been wine version related (1.9.18 vs 1.9.20) or possibly a permission issue, idk

EDIT:

lol j/k nothing changed idgi

EDIT:

ok I'm 69.420% sure I fixed it for real this time, the fresh VM image had the default 1024/2048 no_files ulimits set which is likely too few for the number of clients I was loading
