If you are going to nerf mining drones....

Increase the yield of mining drone by 500% and change the bandwidth so you can only field one at a time like ice mining drones.

Otherwise, I'm going to keep AFKing with 4 mining drones and 1 light no matter how low you make the yield.

Having only one mining drone that takes up all the bandwidth makes me have to recall it when NPCs start attacking it since I can't field light at same time.

Also having a single mining drone that mines 5 times as much makes me have to change roids more often then the four drones to four asteroid method.

So far the only drone nerf they've announced is to the Rorqual-only drones.

Still... I'm going to kelp AFK mining in my Orca unless they make it so I can only field one drone at a time.

Can't believe I'm advocating a nerf on something I use all the time.

But it feels like it's going to get nerfed eventually so maybe we can do it on decent terms.

why it's not like it's op it just caters to afk, if ppl don't like that it carters to afk well then they can do something about it themselves

Yeah I know I've been abusing the hell out of it.

I've been mining in two Orcas...

But if they nerf it then it punishes those who are flying fleets with Orcas being legit and all.

Sure it will require a bit more macro if the single drone pops asteroids more often but it will stop me from putting two Orcas in belt, targeting 8 roids, and then me going to watch a movie on the couch for two hours.

Honestly that's a bad idea. You would end up wasting so many cycles because the roids cannot handle that kind of volume.

Hopefully the AI chip change will bring the price back into reason (although I have my doubts).

I'm really not seeing the issue here. You're gimping your yield, however slightly, to be slightly more secure.

That's your choice, also as several others have pointed out they're only touching the Rorqual's Excavator drones.

Also-also, if this had managed to be relevant to the actual drone nerfs it would belong in the Rorqual nerf thread that you pretty clearly didn't read. Just a note for future reference.
