So saturday we had our first participlation to a tournament, the Tyrian Trophy 2016 ! It was full of stress, emotion and fun lol

1st Match against Make Amarr Great Again

We started varound 13:00 with Roto, then Daemonic joined. Then Cathleb was cool and accepted to join us last minute, and Link arrived just in time from his flight lesson :) Wyk also joined in case of last minute replacement was needed, and indeed he was able to replace Link for the 2nd match as Link had real stuff to attend.

Cathleb did help us a lot, big thank to the best smurf of us :) We had to rework some fits as we discovered only 1 local repper per ship was allowed. Also we spend lot lot of time to understand what implants we had to fit in order to comply to the rules that were asking to fill all implant slots. Two were able to use drug i think, not more due to skill requirements. /moveme command and /omega command saved some of us on the test server lol

We got ready on gate as per the instruction, and then moved again in the correct system and gate this time lol When instructed by Nikolai, we jumped in and warped to the arena of 100 km with an mobile at the center. The opposite fleet landed, and we opened fire on a maller, putting him into armor until the referee told us the match had not yet started, so we got in position again, and started again. Another issue we had was to know which ship was the opposite team and which ones were the referee team, because on test server all appear on overview hum.

The opposite team has a harbinger 2 x maller and 2 x omens. We had 1 prophecy 2 x vexor 1 exequror and 1 maulus. We finally focused on their omens, shooting one, and then putting the 2nd omen into armor if i remember. Except that in the meantime their dps was overwelming us, they primaried our logi, and then we got shot pretty quickly. So it was over for us.

2nd match against RvB

We had only 45 mn before the second match, so we had to re-plug new implants (referrees poded all pilots after match to check implants) and fit new ships. We decided to make some changes to our armor set up following the 1st match. Cathleb provided good insight again and we decided to go with a brutix 2 x vexor 1 x thorax and 1 x blackbird, so no logi and more dps. It was really really short to get fits and ships ready. Wyk arrived in time to replace Link who had to go for real stuff.

We warped to the gate, and at signal we jumped again into the Arena ! This time we faced 2 brutix 1 thorax and 2 punishers, so all dps again. They burnt into us, so we went opposite direction so we could kite a bit. This time it was more longer. We focused on their thorax first, he tanked a bit, we got jammed a lot (my brutix was jammed 60% of the match), we finally killed their thorax. In the meantime they had shot some of us, and then we focused on their punishers, we killed their frigates, and then it was my brutix against their two brutix, but the match was over. My ship went over the boundary and took too much time to come back within 100 km, anyway they still had more points on the field and RvB won the match.

It was generally a totally new experience for us, i think we all enjoyed, of course we can learn from it and hopefully improve :) I'm very happy that we were able to field team for both match despite two team members who had real life stuff at last minute, we accept and have no issue with that, and we're happy that cathleb and wyk accepted to join us at last minute. Keep in mind : Test lost their 1st match because they couldn't field a team lol

4 Big Big thank you : 1/ to Cathleb ze best Smurf : he did help a lot with last minute fits and good advises he gave, without him it would have been terrible lol 2/ to Wyk who burnt to us last minute to help us and be part of the adventure :) 3/ to Sir Bly who couldn't be here today but who worked a lot on preparing our set ups and initial fits. 4/ A big big thank you to Nikolai the organizer and his team ! I know he was overwelmed with many things to do at the same time, but he managed to do it ! Of course some things can be improved, but that's easy to say and the organizers made mainly good work !

We can now think about this experience, and see about the future !
