Dust beta question

So I do not currently have a PS3, but I should be getting one any day now. I Figured it was a better idea to sign up for the dust beta as soon as possible rather than waiting until I get my PS3. So the question is this: Does not having a PSN account hurt your chances of getting picked for the beta?

I would think it would, considering it would be a waste to give keys to people that can't use them.

Well a lot of times they send beta keys based on the playing population. So they will send out keys to people at random, then send out the next wave of keys based on how many people are actually playing the beta. This is how the D3 beta population is being managed ATM.

And furthermore I don't see why they included the option of not having a PSN account. It if mattered all that much I would think they would just have a field that said "Input PSN profile name or **** right off".

I'm not saying that there is no chance to get a key, just that not having a PSN account does hurt your chances. Though you are right, it does seem rather pointless asking do you or do you not have a PS3 as people can easily lie. Though in many cases, I've seen people say that if they get picked, they'll go out and buy a PS3 just for the beta.

Anyone actually know when keys are going out?

That's a Templar, an Amarr fighter used by carriers.

If I get picked, I'm investing in a PS3. Only reason i'd get a PS3 is for DUST514 Lol

No idea when the keys are going out.

However, considering that Templar One (the book detailing the origins of DUST 514 stuff) is coming out on the 3rd of January and there are already overview categories for DUST 514 related stuff on TQ (look for PI, there are two entries - Capsuleer and Mercenary bases), I'm guessing it starts second week of January (same week as Templar One is released).

PSN is completely free. You have access to all multiplayer features of all games, patches and whatever. The only thing you have to pay for is stuff on the marketplace (dlc, games), and even there not everything has a pricetag.

After getting a 360 a few weeks ago, i was rather surprised at comparing Sony with Microsoft in terms of how their consoles work. The 360 might seem cheaper on paper but after you're done with a gold subscription (which you need to play most muliplayer games or access other online stuff), chargers for the controllers so you don't need batteries constantly (which is just a micro-usb plug for the PS3 ones rather than a proprietary plug) and a $50 accessory just to let you circumvent a horribly designed AV plug (which you can also circumvent by simply taking the plastic caps off it)...

Siderant over. Sony is rather reasonable though, at least moreso than people like to think, as far as the PS3 and spending money on it goes.

If you do things right, people won't be sure you've done anything at all...

I would guess that they would email the account attached to your EVE account(s)
