How safe is Evolution bonus room in Golem?

I called up 'Evolution' on Eve Survival and it sounds a bit scary in the bonus room, especially given that I see all 4 kinds of damage are dealt. (And doing the AE bonus room beats me down pretty hard on both shield and cap. So I'm hesitant on my first time out for this mission...)

Note: most comments from Eve survival seem to be really old. I find the recent ones a bit hard to believe...

My typical mid-slot setup that I'm comfortable with for my Golem in most L4s is:
3x TPs (good ones)
2x Mission-specific shield hardeners
1x Shield Booster (Least blingy dead-space one that will keep me alive. Usually Pith-C)
1x "auxilary" mission-specific slot (AB, MWD, MJD, or MGC with scripts)

My projection, damage (torp), TP, and tank skills are all very solid.

I am wondering what the best option is:

- Avoid the bonus room
- Fit 2 invuls and just go bastion mode as usual
- Fit a MJD, immediately jump away, and snipe everything with Javelin Torps from 90km
- Use a shield boost amp in the "aux" slot, use bastion as usual
- Use cap boosters in aux slot to keep pumping the shield booster
- Something I'm not thinking of?

I think it is the toughest room for level 4s, especially if you cannot pull distance quickly. It chased out my 164k EHP Snake the first time I did it, so it is a scary mission if you are not careful. With your current setup, I would avoid the bonus room. The AE bonus room is far easier than Evolution's one; just lay a MTU, jump 100k, deploy bastion, wait till all but the last wave spawns and is killed, then jump back for loot pick up and killing of the last battleship spawn. You can try the same strategy with Evolution, but you have to ask yourself if it's really worth risking your Golem for it. This room's NPCs are highly aggressive. Wishing you luck!

To buck the popular trend, I began to Rage Start instead of Rage Quit.

...and every time I get another piece of Carbon, I know exactly what CCP is getting this Christmas.

Been there, did that once, may never go back again.

If I was going to try again here are some of the things I would look into based on your fit.

T2 launchers with T2 Fury Cruise, more range out to more than 150k giving you more options from the range side.

Missile Guidance Computers instead of TP's, not as much bonus in close but they do not suffer from fall off so you get more benefit at the longer ranges. With really high skills you can fit these with precision scripts to aid damage application even more and still maintain ranges of 130k or more.

Drop one TP / MGC for another tank slot or capacitor mod.

Really well thought out, thanks. I just may have to give this a shot some time and let you know how it goes.
