Regardless of your political inclinations he's been one hell of a historical character.

20th century is fading one figure at a time as they walk their last steps and the track of their footprints reaches its end.

RIP Fidel, History would have been completely different without you.

I and my wife (daughter of a Cubano exile who died before being able to go back and see the land of his birth or his family) couldn't agree with you more.

Take a dump on it for the time being. That would be rather fitting.

I will make no judgement, but one thing I can say is that, I have a close friend from childhood whose family has cuban exile background, he could never admit one good thing about Fidel, while I could see a few positives. On the other hand, when it came to a political figure who negatively affected my country of origin and my family, I could not say a single good thing about that bastard, but my friend could point out a few good things he's done. History, when it has affected your own family and country, is just too real and too personal for any outsider to convince you otherwise.
