Make a instaundock BM, fit tank, cltr-space stops your ship while it stays invul so you can redock if it isnt a kickout station (and if you base your of a kickout its your fault). FIt warpcore stabs atop of the tank so you cant be held down and so on and on and on.

You have twenty seconds of invulnerability when you undock providing you take no action, if that isn't enough time to assess the situation I suggest you try Chess, which might be better paced for you.

As others have said, instant undock/dock bookmarks are a thing, and you or your corp should have them on every station visited frequently to prevent people from camping you in your own system.

This has been a thing for like, ever. Please, continue to dangle your wallet just outside of CCP's reach in the hopes they will implement ever expanding safe zones for the lazy and self-entitled to blunder around aimlessly in.

You usually only ever die in eve if it was your fault.

Lets take your example, you died because you didnt know how undocking mechanics work. You could have survived if you had played more or read up more or had fit your ship in a different way. That was on you.

You could die by jumping into a gatecamp, but again - you can fit in a way that that doesnt kill you, you could check killboards of the system to find if it is being camped and so on. Only if you did all that, fit in a uncatchable way and then you were to jump into a roaming gang and would spawn within 1km of another ship so your cloak/mwd wouldnt save you - then it wasnt your fault.

Eve follows a set of rules, if you know those rules you will not die. There are exceptions to those rules, but 99% of the time those are in highsec and involve random suicide ganks where it really just is bad luck.

So really, learn how the rules work and you will not die

Omegas are dying to station campers even before the extended trial (aka Alpha clones) idea were conceived by CCP. Roll

with your attitude, your KBs will just be, hopefully, more expensive.

this is part of the game.... station ganking has been done since beginning of eve.. make insta-undocks... etc... instead of taking the time to ***** on here you could have already solved the problem...

You really do have 20 seconds of invulnerability to assess the situation as long as you don't take any action. If you see a station camper, simply re-dock. He won't be able to touch you.

You died because you attempted to warp to a gate from the station. The moment you hit the warp button, your invulnerability period ends and you're targetable. That means that if your ship has to take time to align to your warp destination, you're going to get killed.

The way to beat a station camper is to set an undock bookmark. When you leave the station, you're flying at maximum velocity. If you have a bookmark set at least 150km away and in-line with the undock bay, then the moment you hit the warp button, you go into warp instantly because the ship doesn't have to take time to align while vulnerable. Once you reach your undock bookmark, you go about your business normally.

Every way that people kill you can usually be countered. We've all been killed by station campers. That's how we all learned about undock bookmarks.

Nope, it's 30s, counting from when your screen turns black. I concede that lag in loading grid may rob you of a few seconds.

I learned to Google instead. I'll concede that it is indeed thirty seconds, but not without making a comment about galmil and docking games, naturally.

If anything though, this only makes my original point even more salient. That's what I'm choosing to take away from this exchange anyway.

It's odd though, I was taught twenty. I've never heard thirty before, apparently I'm not alone in this. Somehow, this is someone else's fault and if science should be put to use, it should be to exonerate me.

Rofl, I heard conflicting info too, so I took a few minutes to test it with an alt and a stopwatch.

For the greater glory of galmil docking games, of course!

Same as the 'invulnerability after exiting warp', which many knowledgable people (mostly outside of FW and not used to warping into complexes every day) thought was a myth. It isn't obviously, you can't be targeted for exactly 10s from the moment you land out of warp (speed gauge turning to normal figures, instead of saying 'warping'), if you don't do anything yourself.

Testing is fun, look up Azual Skoll's tracking formula test or his drones dps application test, good stuff.
