Worked for me as well.
Though, i'm not really pleased to use a specific DNS, even more so a Google one.
Big Brother is watching and all, you know.

I will just attempt to be patient Shocked and see if it works itself out. Not happy doing that DNS thing.

My friend suffers from a similar problem, but with bt infinity here in the UK - but can't change the server it uses. :(

same ... checking GUI version ... just got thro and loaded the launcher nicely, but was down for ~10-15 min .. what is funny the launcher does its checks and fails while i have anoather account logged and playing without any issues ...

Today, the launcher gave me "Please wait Checking GUI version..." message.
I wonder how long I'll have to wait before the message changes to something else? Knowing CCP, I won't be surprised the answer is forever.

Also met this problem. Just rebooted to fix.
Think thats because of using VPN's for work activities.

I have this just now, don't use VPN's but a traceroute test from the client IS timing out. Any ideas of fixes I can try?

Same issue.

I refuse to use the Google DNS workaround.


Update:

Closing the Launcher from taskbar and re-starting Launcher from exe fixed it.
