Hi,
Have managed to play for 6 months without too many Trauma's, but ---

Mining which I can manage to do for an hour or so without going Ga Ga, aint going too good.
I now have a Skiff, to be honest I should have continued with the Procurer - not enough difference between the two in - my obvious lack of experience.

I am now at my usual safe mining area which for 7 days have had -100% sales price on pyroxeres. Friends of mine state they do not have this problem at the same place.
Someone mentioned Market Forces after my 1 and only other post, so is this a personal 'nerff' because I have around 10/15 by 15000 m3 loads to sell?
I have very briefly looked else where to sell it but all at what I reckon is a loss and a waste of time.

any advice greatly appreciated,

my advice? put the skiff away, grab a catalyst, or other pvp ship of choice and go shoot someone in the face.

Compressed Pyroxeres is 5300 ISK/unit on buy orders in Jita. You should be able to compress your ore at a local Citadel and with 100:1 compression it isn't difficult to haul. Don't haul too much at a time or the people who follow Mephiztopheleze advice will shoot you!

Nullsec imports a lot of compressed ore for capital/structure manufacture. It's the most efficient way to transport minerals. If you sell ore - always compress it.

Don't knock the Skiff. It's a lot faster than the Procurer and a lot more gank resistant if you fit it properly.

Thanks,
I do have a Miasmos but didn't know about ore compression which I would still need, to cart the stuff around.
I will get the hang of it eventually.

Don't sell ore at all. If you like mining, mine ore, then refine it in a citadel, then haul it to local trade hub like Jita, and place a sell order, don't sell it instantly. And don't haul too often, because it is time, and time = money, so haul only when you have lots of refined stuff. But anyway, mining stuff just for selling is not the best choice. Better if you make some cheap T1 ammo or stuff from your minerals for a bit profit, and sell them instead of just selling the minerals imo.

Look around for a mining corp and offer them the ore you got. As long as they don't have to do 10 jumps to pick it up, they are likely to make you a good price.

If you take all the sand out of the box, only the cat poo will remain.

On that site you can check market prices across the entire Eve universe. The prices are typically delayed so they won't always be 100% accurate to what is currently available but they are typically very close. By using the search function you can look up compressed versions of the ore and see what makes more sense to sell and see if it is worth traveling to a further away trade hub.

You will need fairly good skills to refine profitably. Reprocessing, reprocessing efficiency and the appropriate ore skills. Unless you are getting a 70% refine, you're probably better off selling the compressed ore.

Don't forget contracts. You don't have to haul stuff yourself. Stockpile it and contract it to someone else to haul. Just make sure you have the correct collateral or they will open it and take it themselves.

Have had it all compressed
and ready to sell/process
cannot believe the actual compression from ordinary ore.

Also, don't be so hard on yourself thinking you could only pvp if you were younger. Eve pvp is not like fps pvp. System ticks determine the speed of all actions, and server ticks are 1 per second. So in eve pvp, there is time to think if you aren't being one shotted.

I can not speak for the OP only myself but my guess is that he was not referring to ability. At least for me, as I've gotten old I have not been as competitive and I not only don't feel a need to compete with other but don't enjoy it. I lean more towards cooperative things now than I did when I was younger.

I'm not saying that younger, hyper competitive guys are wrong. I am just saying that I am glad now that phase of life is behind me.

TL;dr
There is a difference between ability and desire.

Thank you all,

I will be staying with this game a bit longer,

I am going ,the Drone Route for now let them worry about the PVP and manoeuvres,

I like the fact that no Joysticks and Pedals are required.

I also like the fact that Eve has been going for many years.

The Tone of the Forums is the best I have ever seen, and yes I did play the original Elite and a Flight Sim that was just white Lines on a Black background.

I also like my Avatar which is nearly as good looking as my true self...

That will bring him tears... tears that local jita gankers will surely collect.

Only in this subforum, really. The rest of the forums are plenty full of ashhattery.
