So last night my corp mates were talking about how tough the NPC mining ops were. I, as usual, started thinking about how the problem could be tackled. The very 1st thing i wondered was "do they scam like players, or 'fake scam' like regular NPCs allowing you to MJD moon walk away if things got tough.

I fit up a Cylcone i had lying around and gave it a test by attacking a Guristas Production Retriever fleet (didn't bother waiting for a the hauler wasn't trying to get loot just testing). Indeed, NPC mining op responders do scram just like players, shutting of MWD and MJD. Surprisingly the NPCs only attacked my Battlecruiser with frigates , I brought in an alt in a Stratios and killed them all. Of course I didn't get any reinforcement waves of npcs because the haulers were able to escape.

TL;DR Yes the new NPCs scram for real so don't be expecting to just mjd moon walk away.

As far as I'm aware NPCs can't be Nuets. They can however be jammed (Well Incursions rats can and most NPCs follow the same basic mechanics)

Cool!

If you don't know where you're going, any road will take you there.
