Hi,

I'm also running Fedora 25 with the same hardware setup.
Did you upgrade your system with DNF and running an old install of EVE? Like older than a week?

On a clean Fedora 25 Workstation install the launcher gets the Error regarding accessing index files and copying resource files. (Like the thread about Arch Linux problems.)

I recently got this error was working fine two weeks ago, just wanted to know if your EVE install is fresh?

I'd check your permissions. EVE install was not fresh. I just updated system and all was fine.

I upgraded Fedora using DNF, yes:

$ sudo dnf -y --update
$ sudo dnf upgrade --refresh
$ sudo systemctl isolate multi-user.target # runlevel 3 to uninstall gfx driver.
$ sudo nvidia-uninstall # removes nvidia driver
$ shutdown -r now # reboot due to updated kernel from dnf
# Here I actually edited the grub boot parameter on reboot to go into runlevel 3 (i.e. systemd.unit=multi-user.target)
$ sudo dnf -y system-upgrade download --refresh --releasever=25
$ sudo dnf system-upgrade reboot
# Update went fine, time to re-install nvidia driver:
$ sudo systemctl isolate multi-user.target # runlevel 3 to uninstall gfx driver.
$ chmod 755 ~/Downloads/NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-375.20.run
$ sudo ~/Downloads/NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-375.20.run -a
$ shutdown -r now

As for EVE - just the normal launcher as per my original post.

It is not really relevant, but I have EVE and games etc. on a different partition:

[pua@rook Desktop]$ ls -al ~ | grep ^l

Okay, then it seams that a on a clean install, the launcher have problems downloading the resource files and "hangs" looking up files that does not exist. Leaving it for some time it will transition to the ready state.

I have upgraded to Fedora 25 and everything is running fine, except for EVE Online.

I can run Launcher, change account, login and run the game, however after the game is launched, I can't interact with the game, since the mouse and keyboard are not focused (right click will show "Change background picture").

I am running AMD MESA drivers (default).

Fedora 25 4.8.8-300.fc25.x86_64
OpenGL renderer string: Gallium 0.4 on AMD BONAIRE (DRM 2.46.0 / 4.8.8-300.fc25.x86_64, LLVM 3.8.0)
OpenGL core profile version string: 4.1 (Core Profile) Mesa 12.0.3

EDIT: Clarification: EVE continues to work fine under X.org, the problem only occurs while using Wayland+XWayland login.

I think the issue is that in Fedora 25, Fedora switched from the X display server to Wayland. Wine still tries to use X server instead. I'm not 100% sure if there is a way to get it to use Wayland instead.

Wine works with X and X only at the moment, as do many other applications in the linux world. Wayland and Mir both have their own compatibility layers called XWayland and XMir respectively, so these applications will still be able to run. This does not always work properly, though, and it usually comes with a performance hit. For the time being, I'd recommend running X.

interesting update- when I downloaded the windows installer and installed it under WINE- without using the tar.gz that is available from the forums- it worked without a problem.

Unfortunately it does not work for me. I just upgrade to Fedora 25 from Fedora 23, Eve launcher started up normally and I can login normally. But when I started to play, nothing happened for awhile, then the Eve launcher window seems to be shifted position incompletely, then the X display froze. I have to login from console or ssh in to kill Eve processes to free up the X display. I am using Xorg not Wayland.
