Well yes! I have seen two or three old friends return to check it out and they have discovered that (a) they still love EvE, and (b) alphas suck big hairy #$^& "WTF I want my Stratios back", and are indeed planning to go full potato omega.

Makes me wonder who else the cat's gonna drag back in...

Rationally, anyone and everyone with time on their hands should create atleast 4 Alphas (one for each faction, owing to race restrictions on flyable hulls and in anticipation of future balance changes).

Ideally create them with a Recruit a Friend Code, so as to benefit if/when you sub one of them.

Then just sit on them whilst updating their skill ques till they mature.

Exactly.

Alphas are a tremendous opportunity for creating infinite free SP farm accounts and just updating skill ques.
Eventually youll end up with a X x 5mil SP account,s +250k from Recruit a Friend + free PLEX/sub when you sub it.

Sub will soon take you past 5,5mil SP, so you can dump 500k SP on an extractor, and sell it for compensation.
If you used Recruit a Friend Code, you will also receive a free PLEX/sub, so its pure profit.
Even Alphas can use Recruit a Friend, albeit only for time.

Unless there is some restriction Im overlooking (such as maybe an expiration date on Recruit a Friend codes), this means there is a definate point in the future where injector prices, and hence PLEX/character markets, are going to collapse. I cba to calculate how long it takes to train an Alpha to 5mil, but you can expect the collapse around that point as calculated from when Ascension went live.

NB: You can only activate the Recruit a Friend benefits, when it is payed directly as a sub to CCP. You cant use PLEX for this, although you will receive PLEX option in return for doing so.
