How to Upgrade Alpha Clone with Core starter pack? (Solved [:=d])

I bought a core starter pack, and would like to upgrade my existing alpha clone account with it, but whenever i try to add it to library it errors, says i already have account, and will not upgrade.

I found a q/a post by dev in the steam forums tht said it was possible:

"Q: Can I upgrade an alpha account with a starter pack, without it creating a new account?
A: If you created an alpha account on Steam, then yes."

Anyone know how i can get around the error?

For anyone looking to do this:

-Register your steam account with Eve
-Create a new username/password with Eve
-You can now see all your account info through the eve website, and login without using steam.

Next:
-uninstall Eve from steam
-permanent delete Eve from steam library (help>steam support>games&software>select Eve Oonline>then select perm del from steam)
-add eve core started pack to the library
-reinstall and play


Your alpha clone characters will still be available, and upgraded to omega with all the redeemables from the core starter pack

I did this and it didn't work. Now it says that I didn't even buy the Core Pack on my Steam account, great.
