Unless I have totally misunderstood (flame me shamelessly if I have, please)....

... a skill that I invested 512,000 SP in (L5) is now worthless unless I train new ships and buy those ships and have someone (or alts fly those ships) or even upgrade to capital (Orca) and so on.

What was a passive boost based on a particular skill, now requires new skills and new mods that can only be fitted to ships that also require other skills.

I am sure this is not only the case for mining. 512,000 SP invested in a skill that is now worthless without more SP investment.

Refund the 512,000 SP please

There's an item called a Skill Extractor. Use that and it becomes a Skill Injector.

I agree, they got rid of a bunch of passive boosts from leadership skills that were beneficial to someone not having a command ship of some sort.

Which, if I remember right, costs not a small amount of isk.

I can remember lots of changes to skill trees, but not effectively de-activating the skills you have trained unless you pay significant isk.

No.

If you had the ability to give 'em back, we could duel in Velators for the SP :)

So we're replying because you've made a post in GD, thus asking us. If you want CCP to refund your skillpoints, open a ticket and ask for the refund.

There is no refund. The skills still have a use.

All of us that trained leadership skills and dedicated off-grid links alts received plenty of benefit for that training. We wouldn't have trained the skills otherwise.

So nothing to refund, just because you don't wish to make use of those skills now. That's a personal choice, not a game design requirement.

I'm not sure what current prices are but you'll legitimately double your ISK. or close to it. In before ISK doubling jokes. Straight

True. "public opinion" tends to help with that. Was worth a try.

About 250m for the extractor. Before looking at injector, doubling a loooong road. Point taken though

Injectors are at about 600 mill.

So if you spend 250 and then sell for around 600, that's a net gain of 450 odd mill for skillpoints you aren't intending to use at all.

Well, I would actually like to use them. Just can't use them without significant further change to skills and gameplay.

Thanks for suggesting way out I will probably take.

Yeah, but be careful if you have OCD.

512,000 SP doesn't go into 500,000 SP.

You'll be left with 12 SP just sitting there.....staring at you.....eating your heart out day by day......*I'm triggered

So get a mining fleet together, weren't ice alt blobs in blobs anyways? Boost em and let em mine, if you attend you can cycle your mods slower because they cycle faster than the buff timer.

Oh, I perfectly understand, Hal Morsh — a mission like this requires courage, skill, and heroism… qualities you are clearly lacking. Have you forgotten you're one of the bloody immortals!?

The skills are still considered useful, as such CCP has stated they will not reimburse them.
