I remember when I paid to train those yellow skills

I like that Eve has gone F2P, but the implementation....I paid for those skills on my account previously, in time to train and in actual money. Now it seems I have to pay to "rent" them.

I guess its a toss up, let people play your game in a very limited way.

But the older accounts who already paid to train...lol this alpha clone stuff won't make me pay to unlock the skills i paid for already.

I can't say I share your outlook.

The way I see it these people: https://twitter.com/CCPGAMESjobs/status/799206065799733249 all have mortgages and families to feed just like I do. And I'm more that happy to pay them £7.50pm to let me play in their sandbox.

Alpha always was just a GOOD way of attracting new subs. Not a loophole for cheapscates to bum free access to the most incredible virtual universe ever created that has had hundreds of millions of $ spent on it's development.

Its not "free to play". Alpha clone access is a limited trial account with unlimited length of time, regarding to access to the server. If you stop paying for omega clone (which is a full access account) why should you still have the same capabilities ?

Incorrect. You paid for a finite period of access to the game server. That is it.

Now you get that access to the server for free, yet you've still found a way to convince yourself that you're somehow being ripped off. Roll

Grow up.

Nah i'm not being ripped off, i'm not playing XD duh. Just saying my feedback and moving on. The alpha clones don't make me want to play. It was Finite, but i'm not going to pay to get those skills back. Nice try though.

You're in exactly the same situation as before (can use skills until you stop renting them) but now when you choose to stop renting them you can still use some of them. It seems like you've been given a significant upgrade on your previous package and yet are still whining about it Shocked

Do you have any stuff left over? Please contract as much of it as possible to Dark Lord Trump. Thank you!

I'm going to build a big wall that will keep the Gallente out, and they're going to pay for it!

As above, the only thing you're paying for is to be able to log in to the server. CCP can decide to delete everybody tomorrow and shut down the servers, and they would NOT be required to give a refund at all.

So, before, if you paid you could log in, and gained access to the skills and the ships. If you didn't pay, you had 0 access.

And now, if you pay you can log in, and have access to the skills and the ships. If you don't pay, you can still log in but have very limited access.

If it's not enough to get you to subscribe, that's fine. If you don't want to play anymore, that's fine too. We're not your babysitters, do what you want.

Personally I think this is just the initial rollout. If CCP sees that it's too restrictive and people aren't being persuaded to open an account, I'm pretty sure they will relax the restrictions. Once the system is in place, it's very easy to relax the restrictions. And that's the whole point, to get people to subscribe more; if it's not working, they'll make changes.

Frankly I'm shocked we made to post #8 before the obligatory meme. We're slacking.

Just bringing up the issue, any returning player is going to see they can't use their old ships until they pay to play. Its an upgrade from not playing at all, but if they expect more than a day or two of logging in from old players they need to start thinking about pushing to what other MMOs are doing, which is usualy pay once, play for life. In eves case this idea could manifest into pay for skills, as I thought it might have been. but nahhh apparently. Won't get my money this time., sorry.
