Problem with Market Browser

I am having issues with the market browser. When I open the market browser and leave the search field empty, nothing appears on the left side of the browser. I have to enter some type of a search string in order to browse for an item.

What happened to opening up the browser and looking for items without searching for them specifically by typing in a search string?
