The character sheet says:
Train skills at 2X speed.
I don't think this is true. I see no speed difference.

It's a lame, and I mean lame as hell, marketing gimmick. You're training the speed you have always have. Alpha's are training at half speed. Alpha's don't have the big boy pants needed to be told they have half the brain power of real players.

Yes, it should say "Alpha clone 1/2 speed" "Omega Clone NORMAL speed"

Because.... that's what it is.

FYI. I am an Alpha.

They could also say that Omega clones are training at twice the Alpha clone speed. Same meaning, same marketing, more precision. Everybody happy (almost?).

Or make possible to choose it.

Choice is never a bad thing.

Off-topic, but regarding choice always being good, this might be interesting:

I agree that some, even many, people can't handle choice. With freedom of choice comes responsibility of choice.

Heyyyy yo what's up

I logged in for the first time since like, mid-October and I really like what's going on. I'm especially tickled by the little clicks and tick noises when you run the mouse cursor over clickable text like names and links. However, there seems to be a slight delay on the sound, and it feels like it coincides with the delay on the visual effects. The visuals, such as the flashes and tooltips seem to be alright-ish with the delay, and it gives them a bouncy feel. But as audio it feels like straight lag. If I'm not looking at the mouse, the sounds are pure responsive feedback and it's perfect. It's when I see the mouseover that I begin to wonder if my graphics are bogged down.

I really like this treatment of the client, and I think the gameplay experience would realllly benefit from responsiveness and feedback. Compared to other games there is still a lot of room for adding these brain tickler things.

Whoever is responsible for pushing these audio feedback click noises is my new favorite dev or devs.

Sooo the Aura voice is different, yeah, but I'm waiting to see if it was iterated to allow for more Aura audio clips.

Aura has been the only speaking character in EVE for quite a while. Of course there will be attachment to that particular voice, and those audio feedback cues. It's changing the sound of Pavlov's bell.

Players: "Dear CCP, we do not like the sound on the new Aura, please give us a legacy option for the old Aura."

CCP: "Nope. Oh by the way, have some MOAR Aura!"

Aura: "Yyoouyoyuyouoyuyuyyyoynnneyouyouyyouneed to be within range to execute that function."

Its really hard getting used to the new Aura. The old one blended in so nicely. The new one just gets annoying after a while. She sounds too human and generic.

There are so many options on the Audio tab. Just add another one: "Use old Aura voice". Disabled by default, but players who prefer the old voice can enable it.

Or just allow us to replace sound files, then we can do it ourselfes.

Try to appreciate that the new Aura voice is the only Aura voice new players will know. Remember the first times you heard "Warp Drive Active" and the sense of wonder and not knowing what was at the end of your warp. No one told you what Aura used to sound like, or what she should sound like, or that there should be a sound at all. This is purely a case of disliking change.

I expected a bell and instead there's a ding change it back

Not at all.
It is a case of not liking how the change was made and what was done to the core sound of Eve.
The ONLY sounds I ever had switched on in Eve was Aura because the information passed to me by that voice was clear, concise and somehow soothing - Now I wish there was a way to turn it off but unfortunately due to it being such a fundamental part of my Eve experience I am forced to listen to bathroom recordings of people who should NEVER do voice acting (outside the privacy of their bathroom, where even the worst sound good, to themselves)

Change for the sake of change is never good, more so when that change is so far below the standard of what was.

My opinions are mine.

  If you don't like them or disagree with me that's OK.- - - - - - Just don't bother Hating - I don't care

It really is getting harder and harder to justify $23 a month for each sub.

I unsubscribed. Although we see the CCP cares little about the opinions and actions of the players. I just can't eat this... aura's voice. You, or afflicted, or turn off the sound (the sound which runs through the whole game and creates its atmosphere). I fell in love with this game partly because of the music of the Apocrypha patch. But now I see no other solution but to leave.

The new Aura voice is terrible,
I've muted the UI speech sound (slider to 0).
Wich is pity, cuz i liked the sooting calm voice of previous Aura.
I hope we get the old voice back or the abbility to choose the old voice.

Hello there dear troll! Not much to do on a saturday morning? Do you like to praise your dev homies? You know, it will be really hard to create momentum on this subject with all those threads around booing your bad changes.

Just a reminder: We will not forget that there were perfectly good sci-fi mouse feedback sounds before the obnoxious clicks, just because you try to make them look not that bad again.

Oh and by the way, you are off topic. This is not an ascension change, but a 118.10 change :)

The fact that for all this time you thought this was the case says more than enough, in my opinion.

why retrict alpha clones to race ships and modules?
Why not restrit only the skills levels and the meta levels of modules.
I can use t2 on alpha clone and that not supose to happend.
We should be able to change skills as we do with the attribute points.
New pilots should be able to experience ships and modules from other races without having to create a new char from another race to do so.Limiting access to modules taking into account the meta levels would be fairer.
