Looking good here hope it become cult movie rather than 1day sensation.

I expect lots of complaints about anything that was changed. Regardless of the quality of the movie.

Tough choice to make a film.

I wonder what about these scenes. Will they even show nipplez?

Nope, it was created to be PG-13.

Unfounded complaints in my opinion even as a huge fan of GITS. The original movie and the two series are completely different from one another. I just see this as another adaptation of the franchise like the two anime series are from the movie.

That's never stopped the "they changed it, thus it sucks" complaints before.

A couple of the scenes in the trailer look kind of EVE art-like. Circular interior, dark surfaces, bright overhead lighting. Also the protagonist's body looks just like an undressed Eve char.

it looks like it will mainly draw on the original film but with some expanded scenes story swapped in from SAC.
Besides nerd rage it's actually a very good IP to pick as there have already been several versions so a new version inst as unexpected. I am pretty surprised at how few anime have reached Hollywood. Maybe a good thing as so many will benefit from the visual effects being even better than today's standard. A day will come when vfx are good enough to be indistinguishable at 8k (ruffly the fidelity we see at).

I think that my favorite GITS piece is this music clip:

Wamdue Project - King of my Castle (1998)

It never ages.

Without nipplez its all a wasted potential. Sad

Not sure, all in all those boobs are modeled in metal armor... Shocked

*squeezes her warm, large, soft boobs*

Not the same feel, NOT at all...

Somehow not too interested in movie adaptation of Ghost in a shell. I'd rather spend the time watching Psychopath season 2 XD (loved the first one but couldnt find the time for season 2 yet)

Cheers Love! The cavalry's here!

Well nothing will ever match the original but I do have to agree Scarlette Johansson is the best pick they could have made for the role.

It depends on how strongly attached people feel about the original though. As another otaku comparison, if Hollywood ever made an adaptation of Fate Stay Night/Fate Zero/UBW, I won't care who they cast and will rage no matter what the pick is lol

EDIT: pre-emptive noooooooooo! before someone says Scarlette Johansson would be a good Saber XD

Cheers Love! The cavalry's here!

Hm... I wish they had made her hair more... Puffy... You know, Motoko has much more volumous(?) hair than in the animes.
Granted it is with RL actors and not an anime, but still.

That is my only complaint so far =P

I miss having ISK.

I like Scarlett Johansson as an actress, but I have zero interest in watching her as the Major. I'll probably skip the movie, despite being a big GITS fan.

Anime characters are unrealistic. But nipplez in GITS anime are more realistic than "none" in this upcoming movie.

I think with it being just the one movie, they'd have to really go with the original GITS movie rather than the more in-depth fleshed out route of GITS:SAC.

Can't please all the die hard fans, as this is a great franchise with amazing potential should they explore it. As long as Scarlett does a good job with what she's given, then people should like it?

I checked out the writers of the movie, and it's done by the same people that did "Straight outta Compton" and "Street Kings", so already i'm a little nervous.

Sooo yeah I guess i'll reserve judgement till I see it!

This probably won't have any Tachikomas.
