AF Bonus output from Chaos: Please don't do MWD!

Sigh.

-An AB bonus was tried before. It makes them impossible to kill. It was rejected.

-The purpose of the MWD bonus is not to shoehorn AFs into an interceptor role. They will be ****** at it. AFs have a MWD bonus so that if they have to burn into range of something larger and tackle it, they won't die on the approach (heavy tackle, as opposed to inties, which are fast tackle). Also, so that skirmish-fit AFs (like rail harpy, rail enyo...) don't die instantly to anything that can load scorch or barrage.

-Any AF that doesn't function as heavy tackle or as a 20km skirmish fit will see no benefit from this MWD role bonus. AFs that used ABs before will still use ABs. They are not being forced in any way to fit MWDs, certain AF roles are just being made less bad.

Fifth mid on HAWK is WAY OP. Needs to be a low (or nothing, damn thing already has enough slots).

If you throw ISK at it, now, you get an AF that can tank every frig in the game (easily-- including faction fit DDs), plus gate guns at the same time, with an AB and scram. This just isn't right.

5 mid slots, shield tanking bonus, crystals, blue pills, the ridiculously good pith boosters and amps, etc. This will totally wreak havoc on the balance of high ISK frig combat (ie. fighting over 2/10 plexes). It can tank way more than any armor frig can too, by a factor of >2.

You're about 20 pages too late, this has been tested to death already. The Hawks tank isn't much bigger than it is on TQ.
It doesn't have the CPU to fit it's mids full of shield mods, AND be useful. It's also extremely fragile because it's a frigate.
A single small neut and it's cap stability is ******, or a couple non-hybrid ships will alpha through its hitpoints instead.
There's really nothing wrong with it.

AB Bonused Frigates would nullify every type of damage in the game... So no...
What I think should happen is that AFs should be revamped in a new type of way.
When i think of an Assault Frig I actually think of a Vagabond and heres why..

A Vagabond is a Cruiser that essentially moves like a Frigate and is able to skirmish its way around a battlefield, its light on the EHP and Vagabonds arn't really that OP because Battlecruisers OWN Vagabonds any day of the week.

An Assualt frig on the other hand is a Frigate that is supposed to dish out pain like a cruiser, its wrong to think that a frigate should stand toe to toe with Battlecruisers and Cruisers at 0 and be alive. Surviving is the key here.

What i believe should happen is that Assault frigs should receive a BIG falloff bonus so that they don't have to go Gun Ho at zero with all the pain bashing where your MWD is worth crap anyways. An assault frig should teeter around the edges relying on its new MWD Sig bonus staying out of Scram and Neut range and dealing cruiser DPS. NOW the counter would be giving these guys a Tracking NERF so that other frigs could tackle these new menaces and get under their guns. Zooming around at 15-20 km would still give Crusiers and Battlecruisers a chance to hit you but i believe the new MWD bonus helps mitigate that DPS, PLUS you can just burn and warp away.

Anyone who thinks an AF like this would step on a Vagabond's toes doesn't know much about PVP anyways.
