Hello

I was wondering are there plans to implement backgrounds for remaining factions, I'm surprised it didn't happen yet. Those we don’t have yet are:


  • Ammatar Mandate
  • Angel Cartel
  • Blood Raider Covenant
  • CONCORD Assembly
  • Guristas Pirates
  • Jove Empire
  • Khanid Kingdom
  • Mordu's Legion Command
  • ORE
  • Sansha's Nation
  • Serpentis
  • Servant Sisters of EVE
  • The InterBus
  • The Society of Conscious Thought
  • The Syndicate
  • Thukker Tribe



I guess doing those shouldn’t be that hard seeing how quick CCP did the ones for those coalitions during the last war and then one side said the one they got didn’t represent them and CCP made another one just like that. NPC factions have logos and making even standardized backgrounds wouldn’t take much time ?

id like to be able to make my own backgrounds also, but either way +1 for this idea

Yeap that would be neat, I think there was even InterBus one long time ago but mb I'm wrong. The only one from that list that should not be created is Jove one. ;P

I contacted one of the CSM about this and the response was that such idea was "brought up with CCP before" when if ever it will yield any result it is unknown.

If you as player like the idea please support this thread with a response.

For countless years idea of more backgrounds had been around. If we could have at least 2 or 3 themed around every update, that would be soooooooooo pleasing.

I have MS paint open and am awaiting the patch!!!!!

Sadly in this day and age - making our own backgrounds means someone will make something that offends some other dude. Petitions will fly. CCP would have to make judgment calls on backgrounds that push the offensive envelope. They be forced to tread a treacherous slope on this continuously.

It's one of those ideas that is totally fantastic until you add people.

Though, I was thinking more along the lines of art files created by players but approved by CCP.
Kinda like how they do player ads. Or player-made art assets in other games.

This way there could be some more creativity from the player-base, but CCP still gets to keep control of the overall 'dark' look of EvE.

Yeah, as a friend of mine put it when I asked about this with regard to personalized corp logos: "The TTP (time to penis) on this would be very short on EvE."

I understand about indecision, but I don't care if I get behind.  People livin' in competition.  All I want is to have my peace of mind.

I'm personaly sceptic to player made backgrounds not matter if they are "good or bad quality".

Just use a neutral colored banner with the player's corp or alliance logo on it.

If CCP is playing favorites and adding backgrounds for player alliances, they should either be opening submissions for everyone else or automating it somehow. The Alliance ones they added recently are cool, but its kind of a ****** to specifically author new content aimed only at specific player groups in that manner. At worst its collusion for recruiting purposes, at best its mild favoritism from what should be a neutral entity.
