Actually this is the exact reason why they wont offer the namechange or clean slate service.

Ok, all "reasons" aside, what do I do now?

I am not gonna delete the character, I just need some kind of forgiveness so I can join a corp with good benefits.

I endorse this product and/or service,

CCP should evemail every contact you have and tell them of the change, as well as auto update everyone's contacts as well as add an AKA tab for those who change their name.

The point isn't to escape your previous names, but to enjoy the game more.

There should be a re-naming system in place, BUT it should be limited to toons that was bought VIA Character Bazaar or similar channels with rules in-place.

Because he wants the ability to join corps, gank mission runners without concorde intervention, press the reset button and do it again...

You could go one step further by allowing a name chance once per-year, or some such in a similar fashion to attribute remaps. It could give con artists, pirates and others a new lease on life without losing their precious SP's.

Just fake-sell the character to yourself in the character bazaar and if confronted with the issue, play dumb and point them to the character bazaar thread, claiming the previous owner was the culprit.

The only time I advocate being able to change names is when you transfer a character to another account, allowing someone who buys a toon to scrape off any stalkers that toon might have picked up when it was being used by someone else.

Also, lol @ the OP whining that his "mistake" carries consequences. Embrace the bad reputation and do more evil.

What I would do is set up a CEO alt, form my own corp, and join the character to it. When he mails your alt, write him back saying something like "he told me you'd say that, go away." Stay in that corp for a while, then jump to a different alt corp and see if he follows you. Yes it's tedious, but the idea is to make this guy think he can't affect you for long enough that he loses interest.

So character buys should now be a free-for-all for people wanting to pay their way into SP without any negative consequence?

The name thing is the only thing keeping the sales of characters from completely ruining the game.
