If I'm armor tanking, I'd just like to be able to know how much shield regeneration is helping (I know it won't be much, I'm just curious)

If your shields are full depleted, the rate is pretty much 0. It's a massive reduction from the normal rate. Like the recharge rate at 99% Woo! CSM XI!
