Why are some items only available to sell through contracts (DS modules, etc)? I'm just wondering what the rationale behind that is. TIA!

they're likely pirate faction (e.g. Gistii something or other) or officer (e.g. Estamel's something or other), and up until recently (Incarna maybe) weren't even listed in the market... so, old habits die hard.

One of the bitter points of a good bittervet is the realisation that all those SP don't really do much, and that the newbie is having much more fun with what little he has. - Tippia

Yeah, they actually are pirate faction items. It just seems odd that they aren't allowed to be sold on the market period. The only option I get is Find in Contracts. Thanks!

I assume it was part of something about how they aren't standard issue or on the standard "database" (i mean that within the context the EVE universe and it's lore around the market, not the database of game items that players can access).

Also that it could be considered kind of like a black-market / underground thing.
