Hello All

I am going to tread on a subject here that many have opinions about and most of the Idea's I bring up here are Idea's that was suggested to me by friends and people I have played with in game.

For years it has been possible to fly to another alliance system with a cloaky ship and just camp that system to hell and back with out even having to be at your pc. Then when you have the numbers or a fleet that is ready find your target and then jump on them after 6 hours of camping and this can go on for months which has lead to people leaving the game altogether.

We want Content not inactivity and people leaving the game because some have jumped in system and gone to work only to get home from work jump on his PC and tackle somewhere.

This uses unneeded server resources while that person is at work reducing the availability for the people that are playing and active.
Before you say oh one doesn't use much I guarantee there is more then one person doing this and when you add them all up this will cause unneeded draw on CCP servers just for a account that is doing nothing.

So what are our suggestions from my friends, wingman, and others in games.

Option one:
Make the cloaking modules require fuel and there for the pilot would have to go get fuel every now and then to keep camping the system.

Option Two:
Apply a Timer to the Cloaking module with a cool down time so that the pilot would have to be evasive to probes or people hunting him.

Option Three: Add Cloak Fatigue so the pilot will build up Fatigue and can not cloak for days on end and making camping a system more of a team effort rather then just one pilot in the system for weeks or months on end.

Don't get me wrong I am not against Cloaky camping. I just want it to be more active and provide more content while the camper is there or when I am camping myself.

I look forward to hearing other peoples suggestions so please post.

A) All of your ideas are old and bad. Cloaks are a balanced module. There are ways to counter a cloaky camper but that requires effort and teamwork on your part.
B) I'm pretty sure that TQ can handle the load from cloakers. It would have to be a really big battle before it works cause any issues.
C) There is a thread about this on the forums already, going for almost 400 pages, so in before lock.

working as intended, if you cant make money because the enemy is camping your system and your scared then they are winning by denying you isk for your warchest.

Edit: can you clarify what resources this type of gameplay uses? i forget

Domination Nephilim - Angel Cartel

Calm down miner. As you pointed out, people think they can get away with stuff they would not in rl... Like for example illegal mining... - Ima Wreckyou*

I love the way the main point has been skipped and that you over look the fact I am speaking from experience as a camper as well.

A: Not about the lack of making money.

B: It is easy for any player to log a toon into a system and leave there desk while the ships stays cloaked from down time to down time.

Now lets make that a more active role where camping a system will require effort and entertainment for the camper and the players being camped. After all it is content we seek in this game not inactivity and excessive boredom right ?.

Why are you assuming that you should not have to put up with other people in your system while you make isk? Pilots in high sec, low sec, and w-space all understand that they actually have to risk something when they undock. Why should null sec pilots be any different?

Try flying ships that you can afford to lose, even if your isk/hour is lower.

Or, get a friend or three to fly with you so that you are a less attractive target.

Or, continue as normal and accept that you are rolling the dice. If they really are AFK for six hours, you stand a good chance of getting away with it.

Asking for the game to be changed to allow you to make more ISK seems disproportionate. It's like me asking for shiny ratting ships to be locked out of stations once I enter the system. :D

17. Redundant and re-posted threads will be locked.

As a courtesy to other forum users, please search to see if there is a thread already open on the topic you wish to discuss. If so, please place your comments there instead. Multiple threads on the same subject clutter up the forums needlessly, causing good feedback and ideas to be lost. Please keep discussions regarding a topic to a single thread.

While the designated thread is on break, it will be reopening soon. Feel free to post your thoughts there.
