Rules of PI:
1. Remember to keep links short!
1a. Link lengths are relative to the planet size. Avoid planets over 25,000 km [usually gas giants].
2. Always start or end a route on some sort of storage (storage, command center, or space port), otherwise you can lose product, or waste production time with idle factory cycles.

3. Planetary Interaction chains predicated on mass hauling of P0 materials are a road down which madness lies.

I'll second that. I'd only recommend exporting P1 or higher.

Tip: Electrolytes should also be avoided in hisec because of the very low extraction rate of Ionic Solutions. Quantity over quality with Water (from Aqueous Liquids) or even Oxygen (from Noble Gas) can often earn more ISK.

Thanks for being such a great and helpful community :)

I am taking things slow and being cautious. I have scouted out and found a nullsec system 3 jumps out of highsec that has high abundance and big hot spot resources that I'm looking for. I've asked around and tried to look at market trend data for the region where I intend to sell the goods, and decided to produce guidance systems.

Right now, I only have PI up on one planet, because its my test run. You can read all the tutorials in the world and get all the advice you can, and there's still something about setting things up for the first time. So I've taken the last few days to do some runs and learn lessons about how to set up the routing, links and all that. I am managing to extract non-CS crystals and produce Chiral structures, which eventually I'll transport to the next plant, to combine with the other P1 I make on that planet, then turn out the first of 2 P2 incedients I need for guidance systems.

Thanks for the help.
