So I did a fair amount of research on this, but it seems like most of the info I could find was several years old. For some background, I work as a freelance artist/animator/troubleshooter for small businesses and inie gaming things.

I'm consistantly impressed by the quality of the EVE player models and was thinking of putting together a little EVE short film, since it seems CCP is cool with the assets being used in this way, but most of the information I can find on grabbing usable versions of character models for animation software is a bit out of date.

Anyone currently using a stable asset pipeline that works in a modern OS to export those models/assets with deformations and such intact, or barring that, at least the basic models with some rigging data so I could approximate the character models for the EVE characters of given people by eyeballing the deformations and clothing?
