My EVE

'Women Gamers of EVE' known as 'WGoE' is an in-game chat channel created in 2003 for IRL women gamers, both CIS and trans gendered.

If you are an IRL woman playing EVE and you're interested in joining the chat channel, you can contact us in-game in our public chat channel Women Gamers public. Both guys & gals are welcome to chat to us there.

A voice interview with a channel moderator is necessary to gain access to the WGoE channel.

We recognise that not everyone wants or needs a dedicated channel for women gamers in EVE. So if it isn't for you, that's okay.

Our EVElopedia entry provided some of the channel's history including why WGoE was created in the first place. EVElopedia was shutdown on 29 February 2016.

It was thanks to this channel I got I found a great corp and alliance. Got my first capital kills (4 of them), and made some great friends!

I like that this thread begins with We made a.. instead of CCP should make.... Very refreshing.

It's really nice to get away from the "EVE IS A BOYS CLUB" mentality, especially in a manner that's trans-inclusionary. You go, WGoE. A+/10

This is actually a really great channel full of really cool people. Its nice to have a place like this, regardless of what people who would never be in the channel might want to say :)

Winge no, but I have personally been part of a voice chat where "Objectification" happened. You should also note that this channel was formed years ago, and has several admins who's main job is to induct new members.

We discuss how our respective fleets did, good and bad, changes in EVE, occasionally chat with those across the battlelines for some fun comparisons. Personally I am grateful because a chance meeting in that channel gave me access to a great alliance. Women gamers are not that much different from male gamers.

However your comments make the point for us, there are guys like you (and other posters in this channel), who see women gamers organising and want to badmouth them. Point fingers and call them "Major feminists". BTW I do agree some feminists have taken things way too far, bashing males as they complain about female bashing. That **** is just stupid.

Real female gamers don't hide? What about creating something for ourselves is hiding? How is advertising it on a public board hiding? If you feel offended that you have been left out of our group, then consider how you feel if 96% of the player population was female?

In answer to your personal statement thinly masked as a question which was clearly a diversion tactic to your own emotional projection onto other people:

I would not care if that hypothetical and completely implausible situation were a reality. I would not feel threatened or be antagonistic about it, I would simply see it as an unusual, inconsequential anomaly in the video games industry.

Now, back to you.

Why you feel the necessity to oust 96% of the player-base of EVE-O?
If you have a nice, well-rounded social-channel on EVE-O, why would you forbid 96% of the entire social community of EVE-O from taking part in it?

To do so only puts you in a stance which is automatically dismissing someone based on their gender...doesn't sound very embracing or accepting; if you are not willing to accept a group of people due to biology, does it?

Now, I've been around a very long time - I can only hope that my words will hold some weight for you in the years ahead.

PS: I seem to remember knocking this chat channel off the front page years ago...I must dig up that old thread. My logic was unassailable.

In the blue corner we hhhhaaaavveee a female only group. (That cool because we already have nationality only groups so really they arn't all that special.) an in the red corner we have a bunch of people for some reason offended by this....(that cool to I mean Europeans make fun of Russian drivers all the time for simply being Russian.)
