I'll start by saying i did go look for an open topic and chouldn't see one. this also might have been put forward as well but here what i came up with:-

I was watching the stream off eve Vegas, the community fittings idea was put forward by ccp Fozzie someone asked what about alliance fittings. His reply is he would like to but there is no alliance role so now can’t be done. I got to thinking, in game for citadels we have access control lists (ACL) could this be adapted to fittings

How I could see this working for alliance fittings
1 – the ceo of the alliance makes a ACL
2 – they add admin has power to delete modify approve access/fittings
3 – adds mods able to add/change/remove fittings
This could be extended to coalition/allies via adding allow statings of +5 or +10 view access

Basically you're talking about making the fittings lists modular, so you can use access lists to control them yeah?

I rather like this idea, and would like it if it also extended to bookmarks, basically allowing access lists to control any number of structures, fitting lists, and bookmark lists. Bookmark lists especially would simplify the intel trade greatly for people like pro synergy, signal cartel, etc. that deal in bookmarks a lot, as well as corps with multiple squads doing different stuff. Fitting lists would be very good for overall fleet management even in a single corp.

I'd use bookmark lists for wormholes especially, set up lists of sigs for combat/hack/gas sites respectively so the appropriate pilots can easily get the bookmarks that are relevant to them. Like, have the escalation group have access to escalation and salvage lists. They do a site, then move the bookmark to the salvage group. The salvage group has a live bookmark list of finished sites ready for salvaging, etc.

Corporations and alliances are so a total overhaul. The question is when and if CCP will ever do it.

Three updates that need to happen as a group
-Inventory overhaul
-Corporation overhaul
-Alliance overhaul

--They should all be attached to a modified access-list like feature and folder system.

Your idea would be a part of the whole overhaul - and personally I would like to see them move to a single window style for a lot of their features. The new character sheet in truth is a good set up for this. The ship fitting window and the other ship fittings storage could all be baked in to a form like the new character sheet.

+1

Id be happy with just "alliance fit tab" like the corporation one to start with... then when getting an alliance fit you can just check there click buy all voila :)
+ no ned to search through posts for fit changes on forums etc...
