What are you talking about? They do get smaller when you warp away from them.

Never seen a Dev respond on the forum.

But this raises another questions ive been curious about. In the entire time EVE has been around, have systems or even cluters ever been added to the game?

A few times.

Frigate wormholes (most recent).
Thera.
Wormholes.
Most of the currentl nullsec regions (oldest).

I could be wrong on a few details here. Not the oldest player.

I knew Wormholes were not apart of the original release. In game you can look around New Eden and see its made up of millions of stars yet we can only reach thousands of them. make you kinda wonder whats out there.

The rest of the galaxy - New Eden is only a star cluster in a much larger galaxy. The areas we can reach are the ones where jump gates have been built, since the only way to get a new gate to an uncharted system is to ship it there the long way, expanding takes a LOOOOOOONG time.

Eve is like an addiction; you can't quit it until it quits you. Also, iderno

Yeah, the Old Man Star chronicle explains that well:

And Pluto is just 40 AU from our star. In Eve there are systems much bigger.

It would add a lot to immersion of the game I believe. Imagine being to close to a star and getting heat damage. Different light bouncing off the planets, moons, stations, ships makes the game less monotonous and star systems would actually feel much bigger don't you guys think?
I know its a lot of work for CCP but I remember when they have redesigned planets and it was a big deal for eve. It changed and modernised it. Videos made by players would look amazing especially when in warp for example.

They do get smaller though, just not to the same extent as they would if we were really 40 AU away from a sun sized star.

That said though, Eve is not a hard Sci-Fi universe, and the view we get from our ships is explicitly augmented for our brain's benefit when flying. For example that's why you can see your own cloaked ship while others can't pick you out visually until you start decloaking.

Essentially these Augmented Reality tweaks serve to fulfil gameplay concerns where appropriate.

In this case having the local star be obvious and very visible even when dozens or hundreds of AU away serves as an anchoring point in space for the player, allows them to keep their bearings within the system, and gives the system a cohesive feel since if we used "realistic" star rendering then the local star would blend into the background after around 30AU, quite a small system in Eve terms, and even a quite large star would be almost invisible out past 100AU.

As things stand stars do get smaller and less obvious as you move away from them, but they never get to the point where you can't look around and pick out the local star visually, which IMO makes a fair bit of sense from a gameplay perspective.
