Strip miners not yielding as much as advocated

I don't get it. I have a Mackinaw, with modulated strip miners II and kernite crystals II, 2 mining laser upgrades II in lows. The yield of the miners with that setup is given as 1462 in the ship fitting overview. That's supposed to be my real yield, right? Taking into account my skills and fitting and everything?
Yet when I mine, I get 1218 per cycle. What am I overlooking?

Geez I'm thick. Been away from this game too long I guess. One is m3 and the other is units. Doh!
