Tony Gonzales' second EVE novel, EVE: Templar One is due out in stores everywhere January 3rd, 2012.

It follows the action of his first novel, EVE: Empyrean Age, and features the story of the first immortal DUST soldiers. I read an early version of it and I heartily endorse it. You can read the devblog with more information here.

Will this one be proofread? /hipster

Just kidding (I think). I'll be buying this, regardless of my initial skepticism. It takes a lot to write a novel. Best luck for the future, Tony.

Though it had its faults, I massively enjoyed Empyrean Age and I'm very much looking forward to Templar One (I've had it pre-ordered forever it seems). Good times ahead.

Edit: I just read the blog and was informed TonyG has left the station. That was a big mistake CCP. I know you had to make cuts, but your #1 guy in charge of IP management wasn't the one to cut. Here's to you and yours Tony!

Sad to see you go, CCP TonyG.

I'm looking forward to this book, hopefully it will be available for sale in Australia some time. Empyrean Age still isn't available as an ePub, apparently the USA takes Australia's history as a penal colony for bread thieves a little too seriously.

I've always been a big fan of Eve's fiction as well; I'm sad to see Tony G go.

I hope in future CCP finds a better way to monetise fiction rather than give it away free on their website or sell physical novels, then have to lay off the staff when that isn't profitable :(

Amazon.co.uk still lists delivery dates as:
Dispatch Estimate: 26 Jan 2012 - 27 Jan 2012
Delivery Estimate: 30 Jan 2012 - 8 Feb 2012

Are you sure it's going to be available on January 3rd? It's been delayed so many times already...

Why are all my favorite devs the ones leaving? (Okay a lot of my favorites are staying, but still...) Sadness...

Anyway, I eagerly await this literary work of awesome. And I too would love to see the day where EVE posters rival those of Master Chief and others at Comic-Con. That would be epic.

You're a casualty, that's ridiculous. Empyrean Age is what got me into EVE, three accounts since 2008!

I look forward to reading the book and I wish you all the best in other projects.

I hope that CCP can develop WIS/FIS to realise the rich Universe that you created for us - clone vat treachery, slave liberation, epic fleet battles and station infiltration.

Fantastic stuff! Big smile

Empyrean Age brought me into EVE as well, and despite some rough patches, I thoroughly enjoyed The Empyrean Age before passing it on to a friend of mine, who loved it as well. I can understand the restructuring of the company post-Incarna, but I just can't see the logic in letting go someone who's helped to develop the backstory of the game as he has. I wish CCP TonyG the best as well, and hope he may even come back someday.

I've read the Empyrean Age repeatedly, and am REALLY looking forward to this book! Already ordered!

I wonder how often the "Enheduanni did it" explanation is thrown around in this book...

Very sad and shocked to learn Tony G is being let go. This is a big step back for development of Eve's backstory. Much of what we know and experience of Eve's Soul is due to what he has written.

I had looked forward to seeing this book published, but now that joy has been tainted with sadness.

Farewell, Tony, and best wishes for the future. You will be missed.

Hey Tony.

I have all forgiven you the spat in the face I felt when reading Theodicy, but I will still claim that the Enheduanni was the worst thing ever introduced into the world of EVE.

I will for sure buy and read Templar One. You will know the book has passed all tests if I end up buying a PS3 after reading it.Blink

Shame to see you go and I wish you all the best in the future ahead. Maybe we will see you back in EVE after your book has pulled in thousands of interested console gamers to DUST.

Thanx Tony for all your passion and dedication to carry forward the EVE lore.

Now as you'r soon to be a free man again, released from corporate bondages, you stand on a new opportunity to carry on and develop the EVE lore further through a private enterprise. That is until CCP again has enough ISK to buy out your EVE lore company.

Also, just ordered both of the books (Empyrean Age and Templar One) to bring myself up to date with the past year EVE lore delicacies.

Sad to see TonyG go, he certainly added a lot of character to the game.

On a more book related note, will this be released on the Kindle as well?

I lied :o
