interdiction is over, oxytopes still high?

Irrational market behavior? At some point all there was is a 800isk 3.5m volume order. Then people started buying from there, now up to 1073.. What?

Uncertainty you say? Hydrogen is equally uncertain now, why isn't it the same price as oxygen?

Ok, maybe people are still cautious and the supply just isn't back yet. Or the prices are just arbitrary?

The bit your missing is that supply is still low compared with demend

And even if every one starts minign it they will still be affer the top price in addition with no large stockpiles the pressure is still upwards

We're goons. Ergo, people think that the internal announcement that the interdiction was ending, never [i]technically[/] intended for public distribution, is all an elaborate head fake, meant to crash prices while simultaneously luring bo...err, automated mining individuals...back out into the open so we can re-buy and go on another killing spree.

As a result, the automated mining individuals as well as their uncommon manual breatheren have been slow to return. Combine that with automated market individuals playing the margin despite price falls, and it helps keep the price high because of pressure on the buy order side of things. There's also somewhat less demand now than there was before the interdiction, as all those empire based gallente towers are now empire based caldari towers instead.

But, people will switch back, botters will start mining again, and the price will continue to drop. Give it time.

In an attempt to hurt Ice miners Goons may have inadvertently helped them.... Well atleast those smart enough to stay out of Gallente space.

I try to be nice and mind my business just shooting lasers at rocks. There is just way too many asshats in New Eden for that to happen.

You can't find gallente ice anywhere but gallente space (well, and 0.0)

Ice miners tend to be, by definition, not the brightest tools in the box. But they do react to "external stimuli". If their shiny Mackinaw got blown up 2-3 times by Goons they probably read up a bit and figured out that, yes, they can mine in peace as long as they don't mine in Gallente ice fields.

So they moved.

Yet, being not-so-shiny and bright, they are now probably grinding up other ice and again won't move or stop unless some external force pokes them to do so. "Looking up market prices for each ice type" is far too advanced for them.

So, there is a considerable lack of Oxygen Isotope producers. Even if Goons would no longer do ganks, there is definitely going to be a long delay before Mackinaws chomp up the related ice in mass quantities.

...and until there is a lot of supply, there is no reason for the price to go down. Clearly there are buyers at the current level. Could be another month or two before the price gets to 500ISK/u level and that assumes at least some ice miners are smart enough to go mine the stuff that gives most ISK.

Exactly.. stay out of Gallente, and wait for the storm to end then take advantage of the situation. All the other isotopes will plummet from over supply while Oxygen will skyrocket from under supply.

Maybe people realised that mining ice is REALLY FREAKING BORING and won't go back?

Mind you, the only reason I haven't done any mining is because of skyrim and saints row 3. Mining, or stabbing things, or being a gangsta on shrooms.

Yeah at 9 mins/cycle to say it is boring is an understatement.

Other than the fact that hydrogen is level and helium is actually going up in price, you mean?

Bots are slow to both relocate when we kill them and come back when we quit killing them. Oxytopes are doomed to have a slow downward trend.

Interestingly, while oxytopes are not coming down, the gallente fuel blocks are selling below market cost. They are priced as if oxytopes were at 700-800 instead of 1100.

Blocks from Christmas gifts, predicting future Oxytope prices when blocks become relevant a month from now?

Ah, good point, I was wondering why so many orders were exactly 1000 units Oops. Still, the cost of building a gallente block at current buy order prices is 19,180 isk, and there is a big mass of orders at 18,000-19,000.
